Stress, willpower and raising kids
Welcome! If you're new to my site, click HERE to let me show you where the best benefits for yourself are located. Thanks for visiting!
Today is Sunday and this is a good thing. Finally after 48 hours or so….the situation with my eldest has been resolved and let me tell you, being tough on kids has to be one of the most difficult things a parent can do. The emotional aspects totally wiped me out but! the point was made, the kid learned and hey, if it causes mom to collapse in exhaustion afterwards….that’s part of what being a mom is all about. We’ll see how this week plays out.
Workwise, built my Olympics site and and debating about refreshing my math and calculus sites. My other sites are generating income quite nicely; my plans that I devised back in Feb. are really coming together.
Time to make the coffee,
Barbara

Never take me for granted.
One of the dumbest things anyone can do, friends, family members, business colleagues, etc., is to take me for granted. I am utterly hair-trigger about such things and have zero problems freezing out anyone who chooses not to value my friendship/insights/etc.
It’s kinda sorta tough when it’s your eldest who does the above.
I am first and foremost my kids’ mom. I’m not their friend, I’m their mom. And let me tell you, holding fast the line is tough and painful but I figure, better to deal with it now instead of watching problems occur in later grades. Sigh.
Today there’s a neat ‘meet the author’ at our local booksellers, so I’ll be taking most of the kids (eldest will be doing major homework with her dad instead).
Time to get back to work,
Barbara

Trigonometry, common sense, home theater, more
It never fails - my kids strive to produce grey hairs on me when adult sparring is NOT an option for major extreme anger release.
Sometimes I have to wonder just how parents manage to raise their kids to adulthood without losing their sanity. It’s truly a challenge!! One of my kids showed empathy worthy of a cactus yesterday (demonstrating a common sense level of non-existence), while the other had reality deliver a front-kick to the teeth in the guise of a lousy math test score. I will admit, I far prefer them to suffer now in the early grades as opposed to high school and college, but wow…it’s maddening to the extreme.
In other news, work is happily moving along and income is increasing. I still have those World of Warcraft guides I need to review. Interestingly enough, there are very few Clickbank products regarding Second Life.
Today is Brazilian Juijitsu (yay!) and later on, adult self-defense. Hopefully (hope hope!) we’ll have time for sparring so I can release all my, ahem, not-exactly-positive emotions via massive pummeling.
This weekend I’ll be attending a karate competition to take pictures of our dojo’s kids; should be enjoyable.
Back to work,
Barbara

Kendo, Taxes, HDTV and life
Morning!
Had a super day with the family and work and martial arts yesterday. Ran the Kendo class (yay!) and realized I know the first 5 wazas pretty darned well, studied my kata transcripts, and all-in-all, enjoyed myself thoroughly.
Family-wise, took the kids shopping, had a great time, very peaceful as well.
Workwise, built the tax site, and am currently working on the HDTV news blog. I have 5 World of Warcraft guides to review and bunches of Second Life material to internalize as well. Wheeee!
Confidence - it’s a great thing.
Time to dive into coffee,

Gadgets, sparring, trig and joy
Oh I’m tired and I ache. Because I don’t participate in karate when there’s only short kids around, I spent most of the class balancing on one foot. While that was quite useful, methinks I overdid it a weee bit - sparring at the end of the day was fun but afterwards, wow, my ankles demanded a recount. But I’m feeling more alive this morning.
Had a good Brazilian Juijitsu class; got happily bruised on my arms. And I’m doing quite well with my sites and blogs. Learning a lot too; it’s amazing the strides that are being achieved in technology and education.
Today is basics for the kids and kendo sparring for me, if me ankle lets me. We’ll see. Oh, and my family is now senior blue (yay!). Hard to believe that come May, we’ll have been practicing karate for a year.
Time to make the donuts,
Barbara

Second Life, Marching Band, Home Theater and more
Morning!
My gosh, what people are doing with Second Life, World of Warcraft, and other virtual places online! ’tis utterly amazing it is. Astounding. I have my work cut out for me with Camp Ling 2008.
I took a good look at my sites and have decided that focusing on
- iPhone
- iTouch
- Home Theater
- High Audio
- HDTV
- Wireless
- World of Warcraft
- Second Life
- Coffee
Makes the most sense. How the heck I’ll do this, of course, is another story entirely!!
The husband wants to play with the High Audio so I’ll look into sites of that nature as well.
Kid-wise, you know you’re a mom when you’re almost asleep and then a kid launches herself into your bed with a WHOMP! and a Hi Mom! I sensed you were sleeping and here I am! Gotta love parenting.
Martial-arts wise, today is Brazilian Juijitsu, Advanced Karate, Kendo and sparring. Can’t wait!
Time to make the donuts,
Barbara

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to my site!
My name is Barbara Ling, and I’ve been a passionate online entrepreneur now for over a decade. Married over 15 years, a mom of 4 kids and 15 Twitter Budgies, I’m the author of 20+ ebooks, master site builder and blogger, teacher of my children and all-around zany, coffee-appreciating, maverick, all-powerful Mother Unit.

Here’s what you’ll get out of my site!
Every day I publish fresh, unique content regarding all aspects of making money online that generally focuses upon techniques I have personally put into practice myself. Sometimes I’ll offer step-by-step lessons on how to build in particular niches, other times I’ll keep you posted about kid entrepreneuring (my eldest finally realized that gee! Mom IS serious that she won’t buy me an iPod….maybe I should earn the money myself!), other times I’ll share with you personal empowerment challenges through which I’ve gone that are reminiscent of raising the Titanic….no matter what, you’ll always find the content insightful, informational and entertaining to boot!
With that, enjoy your visit!
Oh, and please make certain to grab your complimentary copy of my book, the Beginners Make Money Cookbook, over at my Recommended Tools section.
It describes a Baker’s Dozen (plus 1!) ways you can start building your online income today….and will give you a great insight into what you can expect to learn from the way I teach online.
Best wishes,
Barbara

Restful weekend, larges amounts of coffee - back to work today
Morning!
The best word that describes this weekend is “restful”. What an incredible concept - I really do have to indulge in this more than once a month!
Took the family out on various trips; enjoyed pizza, ice cream, and even talked to a sales clerk about World of Warcraft. Gotta love Blizzard Entertainment - they know how to market! My own WoW site is coming along nicely; I will be reviewing several guides and also writing some parental tips as well.
Workwise, my iPhone site and Mom site are becoming quite popular as is my generic how-to-blog site AskOwlbert. I’m slanting that content now towards niche building and the like; as I’ve been doing that for virtually my entire career online in one form or another, methinks I have quite an edge there.
Martial arts wise, my wrist has finally recovered from the front-wrist throw on Friday. Gosh that was awesome; I really want to learn how to do that well. No classes today, alas.
Time to start the coffee,
Barbara
