Hey there,
I’m thrilled to announce that Honorable Daughter 2’s attempt at making The Chocolate Ice Cream Cake That Ate The World! debuted most spiffily indeed! Honorable Son 1’s reaction was very gratifying – he loved the entire concoction.
And earlier in the day, I told the karate senseis that it was his birthday, so they gave him quite the sparring workout (really intense, I might add). Honorable Boy 1 got knocked down several times and picked himself to relaunch himself back into the fray….very well done! By the end of class he was exhausted but most happy…yay!
I had wanted to stay for Adult karate, but figured, okay, it’s his birdieDay – must be at home if I’m needed! But once home, he and Honorable Boy 2 disappeared to their room to play with the spy detection goodies…and then Honorable Daughter 1 asked me if I’d consider taking her to see the Happy Happy Fish Show, Ponyo:
HD1 is quite into anime, you see. So! I figured the time will soon arrive where my kids want to be with their own kind (ie, other teens) so why not enjoy the togertherness today?
Bundling HD1 and HD2 into the MooseMobile, I drove to the theaters and arrived their 20 minutes early. Both girls got right into testing each other with their version of Pictionary…and when I was watching them, I realized…..I never had anything so nice when I was growing up (ie, pleasant interactions with my siblings). It was truly a gift to see how much my kids adore each other!
The movie, alas, was NOT my cup of tea whatsoever (give me Looney Tunes for animation!)…but the kids had a great time. And that was the most important aspect of all.
