Muse (noun) - a force or person, esp. a woman, that inspires a creative artist.
Muuse (noun) – a force or person, esp. one that lives soooo far out of the box that the Starship Enterprise couldn’t locate it, that inspires a creative artist.
Morning!
Quick! Tell me this has happened to you too, that I’m NOT the sole human bean who:
- Sits happily in front of the computer..
and then…
- Reads a unique phrase that IMMEDIATELY kicks the mind into overdrive, resulting in a blinding flash of insight soooo utterly amazing, it reduces the Grand Canyon’s significance to that of a completed toilet paper roll?
Please please please, tell me – I’m not the only carbon-based life form who deals with this at the most inopportune times of day!
<insert chorus of "We heeeeeeeear you Barbara!">
Whew, thanks for the reassurance!!
As I grow in my role as a virtual coach and zany problogger, I find myself experiencing flashes of crazy ideas that
(once I give them permission to drop a 16 ton anvil on my head)
actually end up making quite a lot of sense.
I look back at all the utterly bizarre ideas I’ve had over the past decade or so and wonder. If I had possessed the personal insights and self-confidence back then that I do now….how would life be different today?
Hmmm?
What about you? What do YOU do when the Inspiration Muuse bowls you over, grabs you by the scruff of the neck, shakes you 31 times and then deposits you in front of your artistic tools (your blog, your paints, your sites, your software etc.) and silently bellows in your ear
Here’s the idea! What are you waiting for????
Hmmm?
I simply give into its demands…and let myself go.
How ’bout you? Do YOU listen to that little voice that packs the power of 84 sticks of TNT…and ascend to the stars? Or so you sit very quietly until the feeling goes away?
Enjoy,
Barbara Ling

Everybody speaks of the inner critic – we should speak more about the inner muse. Whereas the voice of the first mentioned is always too loud (at least I got him/her now sitting in the corner where I don’t see him/her, still hear his voice though) the inner muse is hiding somewhere. Come out, inner muse! Speak to me! Sit at my desk! Be my friend!

I LOVE the separation of the Inner critic and the Inner muse (or ‘moose’ in my case!
).
Sometimes one’s inspiration will arrive when one least expects it. I’m sure that will be the case with you too!
Best wishes,
Barbara
