Running on empty but still soaring the skies – giving into the gift of brilliance

Jul 1st, 2008 | By Barbara | Category: Coaching, Insights, Make Money, Make Things Simple

Morning all,

It’s 3pm (got up at 1:30am, dropped at 4am, got up at 6am, and haven’t looked back since) and if I was a footloose and fancy free blogger, I’d ignore the fact I’m in my

Create Until I Drop

mode, call it a day, take a nap, and get ready for my beloved adult sparring this evening.

After all, I’ve been practicing my sparring stance, taking the time to make sense out of the movements, and all those wonderful things that make me yearn to test myself against the best.  And I always advocate that one should take time for their own enjoyments as well.

‘course….if I followed my own advice in this case…. I just wouldn’t be me.  :)

You see, I have the life experience now to recognize when my mind kicks into overdrive and my tutorials take on an added gloss that only sheer out-of-the-boxness can create….and when that happens, my personal enjoyments take a back seat pronto!

This mode doesn’t happen often, actually.  But whenever it does, the sheer amount of quality that flows from my pen (okay, fingers and keyboard) generally staggers me the next day.  ‘course, the next day….I’m generally comatose as well.   But hey, these things happen….and when it does, I’ve found it’s best to simply let myself get swept up into Creation Mode and take that wild ride.

Has this ever happened to you?

Have you ever been seized ideas that make the most perfect of sense one day…and the next day, you wonder, my gosh, how did I ever think of them?

Like a zephyr in your mind, the insights flash brilliantly and shockingly into your conscious…but unless you grab them with both arms and a couple of legs as well, they disappear back into your subconscious if you’re not quick enough to record them for prosperity.

If you’re wise, you’ll accept the inevitable and say to yourself,

Golly self – better you free rein tonight!

If I’m

To be honest, I have no idea where my current flight of literary writing will take me…but I’ll promise you this – it will be something I wouldn’t be able to recreate during 99.4% of my waking time.

Ah, my Adobe Acrobat PDFer has finally completed.  Time to dash back!

Oh, and if you’re reading this today….might you please Twitter me over some coffee?    I could use a couple of gallons just about now….  :)

Enjoy,

Barbara

I’ve experienced that sometimes. What’s even worse is when it happens and you’re already sick to be begin with, you know you should rest but can’t stop working.

I certainly hear you on that – I’m finally feeling like I’m able to return to the land of the living.

    Enjoy,

    Barbara
