Hope your week treated you well and this weekend shall shower you with peace, relaxation, never-ending coffee and all sorts of delightful goodies like that! Me, well…today is our garage sale again, and (you knew this was coming) Accuweather has predicted a big huge bleeping thunderstorm will arrive in my town exactly when the first customers show up at my sale. Joy! Not!
But I digress.
Let’s pounce upon today’s topic, shall we? For today, I’ll like to lean back in my chair, steeple my hands together profoundly and inquire to my TwitterBudgies:
Are you ready for CHANGE?
Now, I’m not talking about, oh, hmmm, the lovely autumn colors that are dressing our landscape in magnificent shades of gold and crimson, nor am I talking about what happens when your coffee disappears from your pot because you left the heater on ‘way too long and now it’s a wispy mist of coffee-scented steam wafting about your kitchen.
No indeed…I’m talking about the kind of change that shakes your very soul awake and pours the adrenaline furiously throughout your body.
In other words, the 2009 recession-to-be-if-it’s-already-here.
Unless you’re more isolated than a fledgling Jedi in a porno theater, you’ve probably noticed the world’s economy has bought an all-expenses-paid ticket to visit the Titantic…and take the worlds’ population along with it.
And while that’s truly lousy for our country, it’s even MORE disasterous for….YOU.
Why? Because while you yourself don’t directly impact the country… your actions cause IMMEDIATE changes with the people you love. Your family, your friends, your neighborhood, etc.etc.etc.
How WILL you react should you:
- Lose your job?
- Get hit by medical bills?
- See your industry decline to the point nobody buys your products?
Hmmmm?
See, the thing is….you just CANNOT be complacent right now! The layoffs are starting and they will only snowball until our economy rights itself….and that will NOT happen anytime within the near future.
So, let me ask you again.
What ARE you doing to ensure you:
- Keep the money flowing?
Here’s 3 things that I’m doing! I hope it helps you too.
Idea #1). Refocusing my products
I’m one of the original pioneers in Internet recruiting…the flip side of that is teaching people how to find a job online and make sure they’re sooooo appealing…only a fool would pass them up! Thus, for the past 2 weeks I’ve built a product that will target that precise niche.
If you’re selling to an industry in which the moola will become scarcer than non-angsting teens, see how you can tailor your product to appeal to areas in which folks will still BUY. This might be the health industries, the sex industries, the ultilities industries, the education industries, etc.etc.etc. Check out the super article:
for additional ideas.
Idea #2). Use Freecycle and Craigslist
Paying retail for kids’ clothing or exercise equipment or housewares is just plain silly if the money is crunching you up. I’ve been thrifty all my life anywhos, so resources like
just make sense. Period, end of statement.
Idea #3). Stock up on sales!
Did you know your local supergrocery probably showcases its weekly circular on the Internet? You can always stock up on family staples when they’re on sale. Heck, you can go to eBay and pick up excellent coupons and gift cards too! Just lookie here:
The above are just 3 simple ways you can start to make your money stretch longer and more efficiently. Do yourself a favor and do NOT be complacent! You want to be sheltered strongly when the winds of strange try to tear down your life….you don’t want to go away blowin’ in the wind.
Enjoy,
Barbara
ps – speaking about Gift cards, have you seen:
