Love!Morning all!

Today is the ever-joyful Education Association conference scheduled at the Atlantic City Casinos!  Okay, true, no, not the casinos (and jeepers, their webmaster is ‘waaaay behind the times, as it’s updated to the remarkably distant past of 2007.  Makes me glad that the technology teacher of my hometown is an expert on website design!!) but the convention center.  And that means….my kids…they be at home!  Wheeeee!

So!  Today I gave my kids off and they’re currently Read more »

What would YOU learn from being pounded into the ground?

Karate KickMorning!

And how are you today?  So nice to see you swing by my blog, for I shall now regale you with a tale of utterly amazing idjutness that is so other-worldly, it’s worthy of the Darwin Awards!

You see, it all started yesterday at the YMCA gym.  No, actually, that’s not true - it really started at Halloween, when I was brazenly attacked by insane amounts of chocolate bar goodness, Milk Duds and other tasty unmentionables that devasated my good eating habits into teeny tiny bits.  Add to that no exercise, and you have a recipe for one, ahem, out-of-shape mom.

So!  Yesterday at the gym, I pounced on my beloved upper body "bash the body workout" routine, and…

No!  Wait wait wait!   Prior to going to the gym, I decided to indulge in the "sit down, stand up, front kick left, sit down, stand up, front kick right" exercise that dissolves your leg muscles while waiting for the school bus.  I managed 120 of those and figured, golly, I’m still walking!  Let’s see what ELSE I can achieve!

But I digress.  Let’s return to the gym and….

The good news is, prior to that day, my record for a left handed arm curl was 35 pounds - yet I managed to blast past that and complete 3 sets of 8 reps of 40 pounds.  Wow!  Not only that, but I was able to leg-press 220 pounds, lat-pull down 150 pounds, and otherwise really Read more »

Life is a four letter word - I think you spell it L-O-V-E

HeartMorning all!

Today is another fine exciting start of the week, and what a week is in store for me!  Not only can I indulge in the joys of raising me family, but I also have to dot the t’s and cross the i’s for my latest product…and that means finishing:

    • aMember backend/configuration
    • Product packaging
    • Finishing the 7 day eTutorial
    • Setting up the ezine
    • Completing the graphics
    • Configuring the helpdesk’

and tons other stuff!   But hey, it’s character-building!

But I digress.  :)

On to today’s topic!

Today I’m in the mood to show gratitude to the people I love.

Long long ago, back before the earth’s crust cooled Read more »

On choosing critical friendship priorities

Quality friendshipsMorning all,

Have you ever had really important work your own important to accomplish….and then realized, other friends are counting on you as well?

This situation was brought home to me yesterday when I was decompressing from the joys of an 18hour-a-day workweek and the Fri/Sat garage sale.  I’m currently in Get Product Launch Ready mode…and my days are filled with everything required for that including: Read more »

A Brief History of Angels

Angels in disguise Morning all,

And how are you today?  I hope your weekend was as enjoyable as mine - I indulged in a romantic date with the husband (went to see the movie Religilous, an utterly brilliant rational take on a very irrational subject), spent time with the kids, worked on my various projects and the like.  I’m currently building a psychology association site and the ideas I’ve devised….wow, it makes the process so much easier.

But I digress.  :)

Today I’d like to talk to you about angels.

Now, you’re probably aware that organized-religion prone….I’m Read more »

Screw YOUR customers and take them for granted today!

Ban Fools today!Morning!

Ah, what a great weekend this is shaping up to be!  Yesterday I indulged in my beloved adult karate and amazingly, my muscle-memory for my reverse punches/etc. is actually starting to shape up (yay!).  And today, I was able to enjoy my morning 2.4 mile walk and execute 800 punches 6 times (ie, 4,800 punches); hey, I might look, ahem, odd, but wow, does it ever help in my conditioning!

But I digress.  :)

So!  I’m certain you’re lying awake right now, craving to uncover the answer to the following burning question: Read more »

RIP Bobby Frank

Bobby FrankMorning,

My world crashed down on me yesterday.

Yesterday, I learned that the man who had taken care of me and my mom for the past 25 years with regards to our leg/ankle brace/etc…. died.

Bobby Frank was a man who, during his life, helped thousands of children and adults walk without pain.  A Certified Orthotist and Prosthetist, he was tireless in driving all over creation to visit children and build for them orthotics, prosthetics and all in all, really make an incredible difference in their lives.

I’d like to invite you to the memorial site I just built for him over at Bobby Frank.net.  His funeral is scheduled for today…but mere words cannot capture the essence of the truly good man he was. Read more »

Woefully sighing over closed doors

Closed Doors

Morning!

Oh wow, was yesterday ever so much fun!  I had the pleasure of attending our karate dojo’s demostration and presentation for our local Community Day!  As the unofficial photographer of my dojo, I took bleeploads of pictures and a great many of them turned out magnificent.  I always enjoy printing them out on 8.5×11" paper and handing them to the parents; my photography skills are improving greatly.

But I digress!

Are you voting for the MILF or unbuttoning the beast?

Vote for the MILFMorning!

It was with great amusement that I read about the site http://www.VoteForTheMILF.com - to wit!

…What a bizarre (and tawdry) series-of-tubes headache for the McCain campaign.

How could it be that a Web site titled "VoteForTheMilf" redirects users to Republican nominee John McCain’s official campaign Website? True stuff. Or at least it was until someone mysteriously un-directed the redirection.

As of just moments ago, anyone who typed "www.voteforthemilf.com" into his or her Web browser and hit enter was immediately redirected to McCain’s site, www.johnmccain.com, where vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin greeted first-time users via video. (The .net and .org versions of voteforthemilf also redirected users to the mccain campaign site.) …MORE…

Talk about funny!  Now, for those folks who never heard of this acronym before, "MILF" means Read more »

Honoring your supreme cluelessness

Here clue clue clue clue!

Morning all!

You know, one of my favorite phrases in the entire world is:

Life!  It’s character-building!

And because cluelessness (we’re talking the kind that would win the Darwin Awards if one existed for personal business) is part and parcel of one’s character (ideally, less than, hmmmm, 87% of your total makeup), I now firmly believe that it should be embraced and cherished and LEARNED FROM and then……let go with all of the fervor a Twitterholic embraces the latest version of TweetDeck.

By now, you’re probably aware….I, ahem, enjoyed the above opportunity to a point that made the phrase

Soul-searing agony

seem more appealing than a Read more »
