Rage!

Morning!

All together now, repeat after me:

"Parenting…it’s a hero’s journey!"

No no, better yet - etch the above into your forehead with indelible ink (or tattooes, whichever flaps your earlobes) and listen closely to the latest, ahem, unique adventure in the Ling family.

I have a plethora of truly wonderful kids.  All of them are steeped in goodness, kindness and empathy…some more so than others.

Take Honorable Boy I.  He’s the most Read more »

Valentine’s Day Goodies, Freebies and More!

Happy Valentine's Day!Morning all,

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching (as in tomorrow)!  Are YOU prepared?

If not, fear not gentle soul!  For I have scoured the Internet in search of goodies that can still save the day for your worthy self.

Oh, and about that picture you see?  That’s my miniMoose in one of his favorite positions (prone).  I’ve always been told that Siberian Huskies are hyper beyond belief - I have one of the few who adores imitating a Siberian Throw Rug.  :)

So!  Let’s begin.  First off, there’s the tried and true printables:

 And don’t forget eCards:

But now, let’s get to the good stuff!

Acting The Angry Man (Tips for defusing, anger management, more)

Dealing with AngerMorning,

I’m on one of the best mailing lists around for self defense, sharing life’s experiences and the like.   That, and Nicky510, are a great way to start every morning!

Yesterday, the following came across my radar, and it hits home so perfectly… I was compelled to ask the author for permission to repost.

This article deals about the essence of anger.  I hope it touches you as it did me…and that you share it with folks who need to read the words as well.

And here we go: Read more »

Dealing with Grown Up Adult Bullies

No Bullies!Morning all,

Yesterday I had quite the fascinating chat with Honorable Daughter II.  Seems that she has the unmitigated joy (on par with that derived from tongue-cleaning a Superbowl toilet bowl) of dealing with a kid in her school who takes the art of annoying behaviors to a level at which Robin Leech would swoon!

Thus, before packing in the kids and the mooses for Advanced karate, I sat down with her and had a serious talk.  She kept focusing upon how "he made her feel"….

...that is, until I pointed out that by choosing that reaction, she was choosing to GIVE him power over her hours AFTER the school day had ended.

You see, while all of my kids are magnificent beyond belief, this particular child of mine Read more »

I love it when YOU cry - the benefits of 4 decades of life.

CryingMorning!

You know, I’m really a big believer in fate and destiny and all that nifty neat thingees that I personally believe govern our actions.

Sure, folks might say…you can always change your destiny, but I think, should that happen…it occurs because your destiny WAS to change.  :)

Being the all-powerful Matriarch of the Ling family, raising my kids, making money online, helping fellow entrepreneurs, etc….all of the above have helped me realize one blazingly cold stark fact of life.

And it’s this: Read more »

To HELL with superMom and superEntrepreneur - what about superMe?

Love!Morning all!

Today is the ever-joyful Education Association conference scheduled at the Atlantic City Casinos!  Okay, true, no, not the casinos (and jeepers, their webmaster is ‘waaaay behind the times, as it’s updated to the remarkably distant past of 2007.  Makes me glad that the technology teacher of my hometown is an expert on website design!!) but the convention center.  And that means….my kids…they be at home!  Wheeeee!

So!  Today I gave my kids off and they’re currently Read more »

Covert Angel time - Rescuing your friends’ personal domain name site!

Angels in disguiseMorning!

If there’s one thing I really adore in life (besides my family and coffee and friends and coffee and karate sparring and coffee and family and …), it’s doing good deeds for the folks who make my world ‘go round.

Since 2001, I’ve been maintaining a site for a brilliant PR marketer (and wonderful friend).  Alas, in 2005…he missed on the renewal of his domain name…and lost the site entirely (a squatter bought it).

Not fear, figured  I…turning on a dime, I had  him register a variant of his name and rebuilt everything from the ground up.  And life was good.

Well!  Enter this morning.  I was updating the site to incorporate a really super coolio neato idea that I’ve been designing for the past 2 weeks…and idly decided to check if his name ever became available again.

And lo and behold, Read more »

Life is a four letter word - I think you spell it L-O-V-E

HeartMorning all!

Today is another fine exciting start of the week, and what a week is in store for me!  Not only can I indulge in the joys of raising me family, but I also have to dot the t’s and cross the i’s for my latest product…and that means finishing:

    • aMember backend/configuration
    • Product packaging
    • Finishing the 7 day eTutorial
    • Setting up the ezine
    • Completing the graphics
    • Configuring the helpdesk’

and tons other stuff!   But hey, it’s character-building!

But I digress.  :)

On to today’s topic!

Today I’m in the mood to show gratitude to the people I love.

Long long ago, back before the earth’s crust cooled Read more »

On choosing critical friendship priorities

Quality friendshipsMorning all,

Have you ever had really important work your own important to accomplish….and then realized, other friends are counting on you as well?

This situation was brought home to me yesterday when I was decompressing from the joys of an 18hour-a-day workweek and the Fri/Sat garage sale.  I’m currently in Get Product Launch Ready mode…and my days are filled with everything required for that including: Read more »
