Make Money with the eBay Affiliate Program – Part 2 – You can buy NEW too!

Morning!

The sun is shining (forgive me for my second blatant lie; it’s more grey than politicians’ promises ), the birdies are mooing (always true; TwitterBudgies are known for their tweeting as well as parallel-universing), the cows are pondering why they can’t give coffee, only milk, and it’s time to wonder:

Oh Universe, if the Energizer Bunny is ever arrested, will he ultimately be charged with battery?

How can you even SLEEP when such questions are unanswered????

But I digress.

Let’s talk money!

No, let’s talk about making money!

No, let’s talk about making money with the (insert dramatic drumroll here!) eBay affiliate program!

A couple of days ago, I wrote Part 1 of making money with the eBay affiliate program. I revealed how must unlearn what you’ve learned (gotta love Yoda!) and open your mind to all the goodies it offers.

Today, I’d like to talk to you about what people sell on eBay. Now, true, hold on there, I see your thoughts! If you’re not yet familiar with the wonders of eBay, you’re thinking:

"Ummmm…..used stuff, right?"

and while yes, you can certainly clear out your garage and closet and under your children’s beds and your clothing hanger (ie, the Soloflex you bought on a whim)…did you ALSO know that you can buy brand NEW items as well?

And that means….

Your visitors who might turn their noses up at a, say, used PDA, might go bananas at snagging a deal on a NIB (new in box) PDA.

Consider used PDAs:

and now consider New PDAs!

The way to track down new items for your eBay affiliate advertising is simple – just tack on common eBay abbreviations like so:

new (okay, that’s a word, not an abbreviation)

NIB (new in box)

NWT (new with tags)

BNWT (brand new with tag)

Auth (authentic)

FS (factory sealed)

MIMT (mint in mint box)

MIMP (mint in mint package)

MIP (mint in package)

NIP (new in package)

NW (never worn)

Thus, the SECOND thing you have to do to make money with the eBay affiliate program is

Fine-tune your delivery of what your audience craves

Some readers will only consider new, others, like yours truly, live for bargains (I snagged meself a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi for around $21 – they normally cost $70 and above). You know your audience best!

Morning!

The sun is shining (okay, blatant lie, it’s cloudy and about to storm), the birdies are mooing (somewhat more true; they’re tweeting up a storm), the cows are tweeting (Cows? In the city?) and it’s time to cry to the universe:

Such are the questions that have confounded mankind since the dawn of rollerblades.

But I digress.

Let’s talk money!

No, let’s talk about making money!

No, let’s talk about making money with the (insert dramatic drumroll here!) eBay affiliate program!

As you’re probably aware if you’ve scanned my sidebar, I live for the eBay affiliate program! Well, okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration – I really live for my family, my friends, my morning coffee in between which nobody gets if they value their lives. But the point remains!

The eBay affiliate program allows you to monetize virtually ANY niche imaginable. For example, my metablogging site Ask Owlbert follows a Macgyver theme. You tell me now…from where ELSE could I get Macgyver items from which I could generate great commissions?

Hmmm?

I’ve used the eBay Affiliate Program to monetize sites dealing with:

Kitchens
Construction
Power tools
Nascar
Bacteria textbooks
Math software
Beads
Feathers
RVs
Volvos

You name it, I’ve probably built it. Hence this series!

The FIRST thing you have to do to make money with the eBay affiliate program is (and I quote from Yoga)

Unlearn….what you have learned!

It’s not like Adsense where you fling in the code and hope someone clicks. Heck no!

The eBay Affiliate Program lets you add targeted niche items to your individual posts as well. For example, let’s say that instead of making money with the eBay Affiliate Program , this post centered instead upon collecting Albert Payson Terhune books. I could close it with

The eBay Affiliate Program lets you monetize your post, (no matter what it’s about!) with targeted items upon which your readers almost certainly will click.

So! Unlearn what you have learned – don’t be content with just slapping in affiliate code and going along your merry way. Target your affiliate audience even finer by delivering precisely-focused visual graphics of goodies in which they can indulge via an impulse buy – it should drive your eBay affiliate commission up ever higher and higher.

Two days ago, I wrote my first Rant about the eBay Affiliate Program – the fact that there’s no celebrity endorsements aside from Weird Al. It’s time for Rant Number 2!

I’m utterly positive that you’ll join me in angsting over the way eBay items are delivered…is really a bummer more painful than reloading Twitter only to see that cute little hourglass never complete….or discovering your last coffeecup grew a crack larger than the Grand Canyon and chose to break just when you sat down with your boiling hot cup of coffee balanced on your lap!

Why is this, I hear you cry? Because….

There’s NO PARALLEL UNIVERSE eBAY AFFILIATE PROGRAM MATERIALIZATION!!

Oh, be still my beating heart…I know, I know, this frustrates me too!

After all, I revealed back in April Fools Day the secret Twitter Budgie Twitter Network, which describes how the Twitter Budgies get around all sorts of Twitter limitations by:

…How does the Twitter Budgie resolve the 140 character limitation?

Very easily. When the 140 character limitation is encountered, the Twitter Budgie rapidly prints out your huge message, tucks it into a FedEx mailer, jumps back into the Budgie Transporter Mobile, simultaneously clones itself to however many people are following you on Twitter, and then beak-delivers the message to that person. Once all the messages have been delivered, the alternative-universes Twitter Budgies merge back into the original Twitter Budgie and return home ….MORE…..

Thus, if that service is already in place, why on earth cannot eBay sellers use the same technology and zap their items to the buyers via the same fashion?

WELL? Just think of how useful that would be!

Someone visits your blog and sees the goodies listed by the eBay affiliate program! Golly, says the someone, I wanna ~~give the blogger lots of commissions~~ buy that! and Poof! they do…resulting in Poof #2, the item materializing on top of their keyboards via the TwitterBudgie.

Astounding, I know. What do you think? I’d love to read!

Morning!

If you’re at all like me, you like learning. No no, scratch that…you ADORE learning!

Because you know that while nobody on the face of this planet (except, of course, for my mother) knows everything….everyone knows SOMETHING!

And when you put all those somethings together, you have one heck of a powerful resource…indeed.

That’s why whenever I want to learn something new, I always make certain to scout out blogs for the particular topic and add them to my feedreader.

Doing this gives me insights into new topics and ideas I might never have considered on my own.
