Google Secrets #5 – Taking Advantage of Google Knols

All together now!

It’s…*Monday!*

Woo hoo!

And that means, of course that….

It’s…..

Time for….

Yet another thrilling weekly series of…..

“Is it *really* that simple?”

Points go to whomever can guess that reference!

But I digress.  🙂

This week, I’d like to shift me focus from comparing various, ahem, attributes to blogging, to revealing some nifty Google secret goodies that you might not be aware of.

Let’s begin, shall we?

Today’s topic is….(drumroll please!)

Google Knol

Currently in beta, Google Knol (aka ‘a unit of knowledge’)…

Looks kinda sorta remarkably similar to Wiki and Hubspot and Squidoo and all those other nifty neato user-created content thingees.

For example, let’s say that I have an insane urge to learn about SEO.

I can search for

SEO

and find the following goodies:

SEO Basics

and wait a sec….

I was going to list other goodies I could uncover but this one really takes the SEO cake!

Written by Aaron Wall (you’ve heard of him I’ll bet if you follow SEO), it’s a compact excellent article about, of course, beginners SEO.

And you’ll see his great credentials over at his author’s bio.

With me so far?  Alrighty then, excellent!

Stop everything you’re doing, open another browser, go visit Bing search engine, and search for

SEO basics

You might notice…that Google Knol is in the top 10, if not the *first*, in Bing SERPs.

Same thing for Google Search too.

Pretty wicked, eh?

Something along the lines of:

Hmmmm, maybe not. How ’bout:

No no, wait wait, *this* is what I meant!!!!

Yeah, *that’s* the ticket!!

But I digress yet again.  🙂

What does this mean for you?

Well, lessee.  Let’s say that I wanted to generate business in the Boomers Fitness market.

I could write a Google Knol about (wait for it) Boomer Fitness

like so:

boomer fitness

and if I SEO it well enough, I’ll bet….it would soon rank in the top 10 for other search engines as well.

The fact there’s only 30 or so Google Knols that appear about Boomer Fitness (and none if you search with quotes) ….well…..

Methinks that’s quite the opportunity, eh?

Wouldn’t you agree?

And the best thing is that making a Google knol is easy!  You can simply visit their Google Knol homepage and click on,

Share and Write a Knol

It’s that easy.

Google Knol is yet another free way you can help boost your own Search Engine Rankings (aka, SEO, SERPs, etc.)

So why not get the jump on your competitors and start your own today?

You never know what benefits it can deliver to you.

Enjoy!
