When life throws you freshly ironed lemons, corner the market instead!

Well, life finally did catch up with me with the force of a 16 ton anvil.
Over the past week, I’ve been dealing with my elderly parents in the hospital, my work, my family, and yesterday things reached a peak – went on shutdown from 2:30pm until this morning when I realized…I’m just not optimal enough to get to Las Vegas for Dr Ben’s End of the World Marketing event.
All together now….wah!
I know myself; if I did go, I’d end up crashing/burning for a week or so afterwards and as the sole breadwinner for the family, I cannot afford that.
Were I single with no responsibilities, heck YES I’d be manning up beyond all mortal comprehension (would also do that if I was a solo speaker and just fly in/out when required)….but as a mom with 4 kids/2 mooses/a spouse and a flock of TwitterBudgies, I have to be wiser than I would prefer.
So. I’ve canceled the LV trip. Going to spend the time home resting and quietly hacking up my solo work that doesn’t require networking; finalizing my launches, doing my pinning but most of all, resting so I recover.
Here’s my takeaway.
1.) Only YOU know what is best for you. Always take into account what friends/etc say….but you know yourself best.
2.) You can’t do business WITHOUT health.
3.) Even if you’re down and out for the count, you can still get your usual newsletters/pins/blog posts/notifications up and out. So you’re not TOTALLY a lost cause.
4.) OUTSOURCE OUTSOURCE OUTSOURCE OUTSOURCE OUTSOURCE OUTSOURCE !
When you can. Must do that….
What’s your take on DO or DO NOT? Im now just resting for a bit…..it just makes sense.
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
