One of the smartest things you can do is make money from what you love online…because if you love your job, chances are….you’ll keep at it and build it even bigger as the days and weeks and months swing by.

Thus, I’d like to ask you:

What in life thrills you? What adds a special `zing!’ to your daily existence? What hobbies make your day?

It goes the other way, too. Did you know that?

Have you been ripped off to the tune of 26K by idiot contractors? Did the auto repair shop down the street take a vacation to Atlantic City from all the money you gave them? Are you sick and tired of telemarketers that interrupt your dinner?

Do you now know better, or have creative ways to deal with the above? Could you spend hours complaining about it to your friends?

Do you think you’re the only human bean to have experienced that particular kind of ripoff? Do you think others would like to learn from your experiences and save the money you lost?

Even more intriguing on a different note, is there a more optimal way you’ve discovered to do common, everyday activities?

A more effective way to clean your house, an easier way to rebuild old hot-rod engines, a safer way of raising children through the terrible twos?

Chances are that if you are interested in something, lots of other folks are too. It makes no difference how obscure that interest is!

There are sites for fans that collect glass insulators, ink wells, old radio tubes, Barbie Dolls, pens, airline bags, lunch boxes, Disney stuff, Star Wars stuff, and more!

There are clubs for sex, astronomy, fishing, biking, outdoors enthusiasts, karate, books, hang-gliding, politics, chess, and doggies. And that’s only the beginning.

Perhaps you are a die-hard auto enthusiast. Or maybe you live for TV shows like “Entertainment Tonight” or “Access Hollywood.”

The key is to build your business by taking an interest and seeing what can be sold that is related to it. Information, products, services, ezines, blogs with advertising - anything goes!

Want more ideas, even concrete examples?

The Goal: Develop an self-help-related business

Have you recently gone through any traumas and learned something valuable from it? Perhaps you’ve won a legal case against your relatives who wanted to steal your inheritance, or maybe you’ve overcome the depression of a miscarriage, or you’ve successfully negotiated an amicable divorce, or you’ve survived 9 months of bed-rest from a high-risk pregnancy, or you’ve conquered smoking, or..

You get the idea. You could build your business around:

Information guides:

  • “101 Activities to Make Weeks Seem Like Days.”
  • “How I Wrestled Back Control Of My Life And Stopped Smoking On My Own.”
  • “Making Your Divorce Happen Yesterday..With No Added Pain To Your Children.”

See? What have you experienced that will help others?

Selling Other Related Products.

  • No matter what you write about, chances are others have written similar things. This in itself is great - you have a chance to stand out! And you also have a chance to market related products as your upsell.

Starting an eZine/blog and selling Advertising space.

  • Build up enough of a list, and merchants will ask you to include their links/banners on your pages/ezines/newsletters/etc. You can even cut out the middleman by using OIO Publisher to manage your advertising scheduling on your own.

The Goal: Develop an auto-related business

If I couldn’t live without my MotorCar magazine fix, I would consider building my business around:

Auto accessories.

  • Custom license plates, leather wraps, etc. (keep in mind that all cars have to do for me is get me from point A to point B, so I’m woefully uneducated about this industry).

Do-it-yourself auto-repair books.

  • Don’t write them yourself - just build up a bookstore via Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com so when people buy it from your link, you earn a commission. You should use this to bolster your overall how-to/resource site.

Models of cars.

  • Make it easy for people shopping for other car-philes to buy that minature rolls royce or monster truck. Yep, you can find those kinds of vendors on the Internet!

See how it works?

I walk the walk I talk myself, of course - I’ve made money from Internet recruiting, losing weight, teaching children how to read, parakeets, avoiding contractors from Hell, Model horses, eBay, iPods, and dozens if not hundreds of other niches as well.

It’s all in how you lay out your plan…and then successfully implement it as well.

Remember - if you love what you do (and build your business around it as well), you’ll have a far better chance at achieving online success for the future. Take advantage of that.

Enjoy!

Barbara
