Senior Unix Systems Administrator

About the Unix Syadmin Job in NJ

Have you ever had an insane desire to cast common idjutness aside and soar to the furthest possible reaches within your Unix systems administrator career…ideally in the delightful outskirts of NewJersey?

Forget about mere BOFH – we’re talking mingling with the likes of Dennis Richie, David Korn, and the other profoundly brilliant net.gods and net.goddesses that are responsible for the greatness known as Unix.

If you’re worthy, that is.

Responsibilities

  • Provide unix security consulting and technical assistance with the evaluation, selection, architecture design, and deployment of new IT unix systems.
  • Coordinate, investigate, utterly decimate and conclude information security incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with the Business sponsors even if they’re so idjut-like they think "java" means "coffee", IT systems administrators, and application developers who cannot spell "C++" to identify gaping security risks even Barney the Dinosaur could spy from 382 miles away, ensure policies are consistently applied ideally with a whip and spiked chain, and provide general support on information security related issues.
  • Analyze security data from the outsourced security service and identify areas of risk and opportunities for improvement, preferably with a Unix flamethrower.
Coordinate the completion of remediation work related to internal and external audit commitments, and refuse to allow participants to venture home until they learn how to spell "rm -rf *" in their home directory.
  • Well-motivated individual, delivers projects without having to be stepped on by a herd of impatient Unix-maddened elephants.
