Morning!
It’s time for my bidecade rant.
Yesterday, I had a great interview
with Mike Darling about infoproducts
and how I’m no longer a product
creator but a solution creator instead.
Mike is a wonderful insightful gentleman,
btw – I’ll be sure to share with you the
interview when it’s ready!
Anywhos, we talked about BSOs (bright
shiny objects) and I reiterated how I
viewed them – 3+ years after returning
to IM, I’ve learned that no matter HOW
much guidance/goodness you give/sell
to your audience, they will STILL stay
rooted in the BSO mindset until something
*very* critical happens.
People *own* how comfortable they
are trying to make a change. And until
they give themselves permission to do so…
BSOs fill the emotional security need of
“that preparation feeling”. It’s just like
retail therapy or binge-eating – folks buy
BSOs for the thrill/high it gives them.
And *when* they’re ready to finally
make a change…. they’ll drop the BSO
mindset.
It requires *action*. For example, do you
