Stepping OFF the cliff edge - Personal Development OR Entrepreneur or Both?

Welcome! If you're new to my site, click HERE to let me show you where the best benefits for yourself are located. Thanks for visiting!

Edge of the CliffMorning,

Well!  I’ve now been told by several individuals who I respect that I should narrow my focus on BarbaraLing.com to EITHER:

Personal Development

or

Entrepreneuring

but not…..both.

Now, this is a major bummer for me, because it involves:

  • 1.)  Setting up another site
  • 2.)  Porting over my blog posts
  • 3.)  Methodically deleting the non-related posts from each blog
  • 4.)  Setting up the images and the hyperlinks and the feeds and the …..

ARGH!!!!

Should BarbaraLing.com be for personal development?

or

Should another one of my sites (virtual-coach.com or own-business.com or kickfate.com or …) be for entrepreneuring?

I’ve just verified it IS indeed possible to do the incredibly massive amount of work to port over my posts/etc….but my gosh, it’s just plain daunting to the extreme.

What do YOU think?

Let me know while I quietly panic,

Barbara Ling

I definitely vote for keeping things as they are. I look forward to reading post on entrepreneurship and personal development.

      Hi Ulla!

Don’t worry, I’m not going to lose either of them….but I do have some ideas…..

      Best wishes, Barbara

Hmmm….   It’s a question we all ask ourselves from time to time. Kind of a who am I and what am I doing. I know focus for me is tough. I start in a direction but bright shiny things constantly distract me and off on a new tangent I go.
I think you’ll have greater success by focusing and the tough decision is, if you do, which piece goes to  a new site.
    Good luck with your decision.

      Hi Bill,

After sleeping on it, I’m pretty certain I have a good idea on how to go…thanks!

    Hi Barbara,
I’m kind of in the same position with my two blogs, so I know what your feeling.  Don’t know the answer yet, unfortunately.
It might be easier to port your posts directly in sql.  Select the posts you want and export them into a catch-table.  Export that table from the old blog database and import it into the new one under a different name.  Then all you have to do is go through and assign categories.
    Just a thought.

Thanks Glenn! I discovered the import/export - so far it’s working great.

      Best wishes, Barbara

That picture says it all.  Why can’t you include both?  I don’t see why it’s an issue.

I’ve just been getting focus comments, that’s all.

      Enjoy, Barbara
