Yes indeed. My parents later told me the Government was quite Machiavillian-smart – they waited until all the student leaders were identified and then in one night, wiped them all out.

Remembering does break my heart, too.
I had just come home to Long Island, after having lived in Japan. Visited China almost five times.
I have a special love for that part of the world and their culture.
My heart stopped………………and still does when I watch it.

The horror may have been 19 years ago…but, it feels like yesterday. Birgit
