Hi Peter,

Yes, I was a wee bit unclear. When I was trying this myself, I built both - a Page and a Post. Turns out...I ended up using the Post after figuring that setting the timestamp back was ensure it wasn't on the main page.

Hope that clarifies things,

@Dennis

No, you do publish it to your blog. My thoughts are that it's okay for it to show up for a day or two on your main page and then eventually scroll off....at least, that's what I did.

Alternatively, you can backdate the page to last year so it will publish but NOT show up on your main page too.

Hope that helps!

Just think what happens AFTER the coffee :-)

Ok so you save it but do not publish it to the blog, correct?

@Bob - thanks for the kind words!

@Gideon - That's just it - you create a new page (which on Blogger is just like a post, I think? The page vs. post thingee deals only with Wordpress - I keep forgetting other platforms are used).

So! Let's say that your last post on your blog, http://gideonswell.blogspot.com/2008/05/myanmar-people-die-while-government.html ,
was in reality your Twelcome page. You'd paste that URL into your Twitter Settings at http://twitter.com/account/settings . Remember, you only want people at Twitter to see it - you don't care if it gets buried at your blog, because the direct link is always on your Twitter home page.

My Twelcome link isn't readily visible on Barbaraling.com, but it's always up close and personal whenever anyone looks at my Twitter.com profile.

Does that help?

I'm curious. I have a blog on blogspot.com or blogger.com which is the new name. I believe I can create only one page unless I create a new blog page. If I put up a new post won't that URL simply take people back to the blog page? When people arrive on my page they will see what ever post happens to be on top and that won't be the TWelcome, at least no for very long. What happens when my TWelcome page gets buried in the archive?
