What’s your sole VALUE in life?

Welcome! If you're new to my site, click HERE to let me show you where the best benefits for yourself are located. Thanks for visiting!

Diamonds in the roughAre you truly magnificent in some areas…and a slob in others?

Does your lack in the second detract from your brilliance in the first?

And if people judge you based upon what you lack….

Do you have the courage to say, to hell with you - it’s not what I’m missing but what I have to offer that’s truly important?

Sometimes we get so bogged down by what people want OF us, we lose sight of the fact that quite often, we ARE what we ARE….and while one can always modify and change…sometimes….it’s what we bring to the table first and foremost that should be valued instead.

What do you think?

Those are some good ideas you share. I know I get hung up on how I’d like my friends to be instead of accepting them the way they are.

I’m trying to catch myself when I do that.

Sometimes that is tough to recognize.

      But it sure is character-building.

      Painful…but character-building.

      Enjoy,

      Barbara

Well, the topic and then the follow up question are two different things, so I’m going to answer them that way.

First, I don’t know that a person can have a “sole” value, otherwise they’d be pretty shallow, but my “main” value has always been loyalty, especially if there’s been no real reason to not be loyal.  My wife will calls me Dudley DoRight because I value that more than anything else in my life.

Second, however, you ask if we’re a slob in others, or does the lack in the second detract from the first.  If I stick with my belief in the first answer, there’s no way that the second, or third, or any other true values, will detract from the first in any fashion.  One hopes that all their values merge together to make them the person they want to be, as well as the person they hope others see them as being.  If you can achieve either of those, then you’re living a pretty good life.

I agree with you - folks always have more than one value…but sometimes their friends/family/etc. act as though only one facet is truly important….and to hell with the rest of the stuff you bring to the table.

And I agree…logically, a lack in the second should NEVER detract from your confidence or value in the first.

But sometimes people sure will imply that’s the fact.

      Ah well, life….it’s character-building. :)

Thanks for stopping on by, Barbara
