Where was I?
Ah yes, Monday!
But first:

Ever wake up one morning and realize that even if work is going more peachy than a tree-full of mangoes…
Ickness can stalk you when you least expect it!
Take for example…. outside factors.
Outside factors around you that can make you view the entire world as choked with the agonizingly distasteful shade of negative grey, utter stark blackness, and whatever other color combination?
Color combinations, I would add, that would NOT be seen on Dancing with the Stars?
Hmmm?
Well then!
The gloriously delightful news is you are not alone (after all, misery loves company)!
Take, for example, oh, gee, I don’t know….
Me.
This morning, I awakened with the best of intentions and….
WAIT! Full stop there.
I did NOT wake up that way whatsoever.
I woke up thinking, oh geeeee, I have this to do, and that to do, and maybe I just can hide under my bedcovers or even better, get a one hour delivery of an ACME implement (complete with coyote, kinda sorta like:
) so I could either pickaxe my way out of my work, or maybe dynamite it or ….
You know what I mean, right?
Anywhos.
So! Awakened I was… and work, I started.
Talked like Yoda, I did.
Confused the mooses, did that as well.
Got my morning newsletter done (yay!).
Totally forgot about my 9am email until 11:30am or so (opposite of yay!).
But prior to that… I had what most sentient lifeforms would call a “Why the bloody hell is this convo going straight down into the fiery pit of Hades” conversation which turned ALL of my earlier positive energy into something that resembled the all the rainbow unicorn brightness of dead toenail fungus.
Not, as you might imagine, a fun way to be at all. 
So I did what any sane person in touch with their emotions might do – cried bunches, talked it over with some family members whom I could trust to be gentle with my emotions AND with a friend who is beyond a lifesaver to me…
… and then said, blorgytoe to this (authentic LingSpeak which means to hell with this), I’m going to turn this negative energy into something positive.
How did I achieve that?
Simple.
I made a FB live about the whole situation, ensured it was impossible to tell *who* I was talking about, and basically poured out my heart (in other words, I communicated that being hugely quick to take offense was a really nonoptimal thing to do… especially if no offense was implied).

By the time I was done, my emotions had quieted down enough that I could handle the next emergency… but that’s a story for another time.
Let’s now return to the main premise of this post… the art of being gentle with yourself.
It’s really really really REALLY hard sometimes to handle the sh*t that life flings in your general direction.
So I’m not going to tell you to:
* accept it
* how to process it
* anything like that it
…because I recognize that everyone has their own sh*t to deal with, and everyone has their own Best Area Practices FOR dealing with it.
But perhaps… allow me to humbly suggest the following.
==> Be gentle with yourself.
You have *every right* for every bit of anger and hurt and fury you possess for anything that might either be directed to you.
It’s also understanding if you want to project that anger outwards in a blindingly terrifying tsunami that will utterly obliterate anything in its direction.
I honor and respect that.
Again, though… be gentle to yourself… and perhaps even more importantly…
==> Be kind to yourself.
Know that the future is always in motion…
And what is utterly overwhelming today, *might* possibly lessen tomorrow.
The hurt and pain you’re feeling now?
If possible, transmute that into something that will benefit you and the ones you love.
You both deserve that.
In closing…
Life sometimes hands you a bowl of sh*t.
Use the pain of enduring said sh*t as a catalyst (call it a fertilizer perhaps) for the seeds of accomplishments for the future.
Yep.
Life sometimes sucks. Honor that, cry about that, process that, scream your anger to the high heavens….
… and then if at all possible, give yourself permission to *let it go*.
The future is always in motion.
And you’ll always have the ability to kick that motion into the grand direction.

Went out to lunch with the husband…
