Where was I? Ah yes, Wednesday!
Took my youngest to DBT therapy yesterday (that’s “a specific type of cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy developed in the late 1980s by psychologist Marsha M. Linehan to help better treat borderline personality disorder. Since its development, it has also been used for the treatment of other kinds of mental health disorders.”) and it was exhausting but very very very good. Both the kids and parents went over ways to handle stress via mindfulness (aka, recognizing your reactions, your actions, and the space between it all).

In other Lingland news, I did get to the gym (several times) – once for weight lifting in the morning, then for swimming with the husband (look at the infinite reflections!):

Don’t forget yesterdays:
Where was I? Ah yes, Monday!
Given what could have happened, the day was …. as restful as possible.
As you read yesterday, my eldest’s car was totaled (with the kid in it). However, kid was able to walk away so yay!
But doesn’t that highlight how fleeting life can really be?
So I wrote the following:
Life is short.
Death is forever.
I came very close to losing someone I love beyond time and space yesterday….
… and it puts life in a HUGE amount of perspective.
Never let your ego stop you from expressing your love for your family and friends.
Always be willing to tell those you love … you love them!
Because you never know if they’ll be in a horrific accident tomorrow.
Much gratitude the person in question has a second chance.”
But I didn’t stop there.
I spent an hour or so reaching out to all my friends to express how much I value them.
Because, you know…
Life can stop at any minute.
And I would have lost my opportunity to tell people that if anything happened.
I *highly* encourage you to do the same!
‘Tis only a few sentences but the goodwill it shares, and the happiness it generates…
