It WILL give the confidence to start putting your thoughts out there.
Do *not* underestimate the power such an ability (confidence) can give you!
Because when you give yourself permission to *start* (and we’re not even talking about angsting about making money, I’m focusing solely on the *mindset* that you are worthy to begin)…
That’s when the magic can start to happen.

Actually no, it’s still Sunday at 9:15pm and OMG OMG!
Another magnificent day!
First, I wrote:

You know what’s one of the best things about being a newbie?
You’re open to learning about anything and everything….
You’re just not jaded by other people’s experiences!
But when you add in 3896789376 metric tons of baggage….
Well, then you get a story worth repeating.
I used to be scared at being laughed at.
I also used to be scared to talk to people from a stage.
Heck, I used to just be scared of being *noticed*. Know what I mean?
You know what cured me of most that?
Sept 24th, I believe, 1998….
It was when I was about to give my first 8 hour Internet Recruiting Seminar in Toronto.
The room was packed.
I vividly remember looking at myself in the mirror (in a business suit no less) and telling myself, Alrighty Barb, if you give into your fears, NOBODY will save you, NOBODY will take over and start talking, and you’ll have to stare at people for 8 hours while babbling silently to yourself!
I walked to my seminar room… reminded myself that even if *I* didn’t believe in my personal greatness, that didn’t mean others couldn’t value me as well.
Then I introduced myself and the rest, as one would say…..
Is history.
Want to know *why*, all of a sudden… I could “turn on” my belief in myself?
Simple.
In that instant, right before walking into my seminar room, I realized that all of my current worries and fears were *ghosts* from my past.
Let me repeat that:
“In that instant right before walking into my seminar room, I realized that all of my current worries and fears were *ghosts* from my past!”
And the past should have no negative impact on the future.
Right?
‘Course right!
Let’s now turn this post back tot he most important reading it…. you!
How often have you let *your* ghosts from your past….
… prevent you from achieving the greatness you are capable of, today?
Truly, it’s something to think on.
Perhaps… give yourself permission to realize that the past is just that.
The Past.
The past has given you (potentially heart-rending and crummilacious and icky-poo and agonizing and soul-searing and devastating and horrendous and (quick, someone look up Thesaurus for more words!) lessons that made you the person you are today…
… but the negatives you might have experienced can really now be left by the roadside.
They really can.
You’re NOT the person you were, back then.
You’re somebody *more*.
Somebody *better*.
So….
… take the opportunity *today* to let go of whatever has been holding yourself back from achieving what you deserve.
Nobody else will do it for you. Thus, take that step today.
And welcome the future tomorrow.

First, I wrote a nifty pro marketing tip:
“[ Pro Marketing Tip ]
People will buy what they *want* even if past data has shown “push button solutions” always have 9457470467 steps required *before* the button is pushed.
Once you have the foundation in place, however, it is totally true that you can “push a button and make money.”
It’s called “promoting a product to your list.”
Very easy to do… ONCE you have that foundation.
So your long-term goal, ideally, is to give your buyers what they want… and also let them know that once they’ve given themselves permission to actually *learn*….
You’re there for them.
Or you can point them in the direction of colleagues that you know will take grand care of them.”

But even more so, the talks I had with my kids…
They were sooo productive!
One of them centered upon reframing emotions:
“One of the greatest gifts you can give your students (and friends, and family members) is the gift of reframing their thoughts.
It might be that they panic whenever they encounter a certain facial feature.
It might be certain words start to cause anxiety within them.
Give them a different re-framing exercise to remove the unintended hurt they might expeirence!
For example, if someone gets angsty over frowns, have them put their head on the ground and then smile. Then have them imagine what that would look like – an upside down smile is a frown!
Then try to make the connection that physical attributes might NOT be indicative to how the person is really feeling….
So whenever they see a frown, they connect that with a hidden smile.
Sure, it sounds new-agey as heck, but you know something?
When you give people the tools to take back their self-confidence, it can really help.”
