It’s Monday!
Sunday proved to be quite an enjoyable day – first, I had a breakfast date with the husband:
Both food and company were quite awesome indeed.
Afterwards, I finally got to see Detective Pikachu and you know something?
My kids have always found it amusing that I never catch the most obvious things in movies (in this case, like, oh, gee, I dont know, who the real villein is and just about every key point of importance). It was a hugely silly movie indeed and I really liked it.
Came home, did more exercise in addition to the 1 hour on the bike earlier (yay!) and all around in general… just had a very relaxing day.

Ever wonder what would happen if YOUR particular affiliate cookies….
… crumbled?
Not to put too fine of a point on it –
marketingland.com/reported-google-browser-change-could-be-final-death-blow-to-cookies-260448
had a fascinating update regarding the Google Chrome Browser. Most notably:
“Google is planning to announce new tools for Chrome that offer users more control over third party tracking cookies, according to the Wall Street Journal. The controls and default settings would be somewhat less “severe” than the anti-cookie tracking moves made by Safari and Firefox, which adopted default tracking protection.”
In other words:
“Browser ID to replace cookies. Reportedly, Google has been working on on a “browser identifier—linked to everything a user does, which advertisers could see—that could be easily toggled on or off by users” for several years. According to the WSJ report, “Google [previously] trashed the plan because it required changing millions of lines of codes and potentially renegotiating thousands of outside agreements.” But it has clearly been revived if the report is accurate.
Coincidentally, Microsoft is also announcing that its new Chromium-based Edge browser will have new tracking controls for third party cookies. All of these moves come against the backdrop of a more privacy-sensitive environment with the CCPA set to take effect next year and the FTC contemplating a multi-billion dollar fine for Facebook’s privacy and personal data problems….”
So why is this such an issue?
Well, if you do affiliate marketing…
… and your cookies dissolve, crumble, or in any other way don’t stick, your commissions could go the opposite of buy buy and instead, zero zero commissions.
Not good at all!
And that means that as the days/weeks/months continue, you should diversify your income properties…
… and perhaps start to simply marketing *your own* products to your list.
That way, cookies are not so much of an issue.
Such an idea (disappearing cookies in the future) could make for a great quick cheatsheet. You could consider steps like:
Step 1.) Research ways to create online income that don’t depend upon affiliate cookies
Step 2.) Research the best way that resonates with *you* personally
Step 3.) Put it into action
