Good
morning!
Finding
free resumes is great, but kinda sorta useless unless you uncover the clients
needed to market your candidates! With today's economy still deeply embedded
in Ice Age, you have to do everything possible to build up your client
base. And here's a great free way to do so.
Brief,
pithy and to the point. To find hidden clients on Google, you need to first
determine
what
industry? what location?
Wasn't
that easy? Let's say that you market lawyers in NYC. That's a pretty broad
area with lots and lots of firms. First ask yourself....what kinds of words
would appear on corporate job pages? Probably things like "submit"
and "resume" and "New York" (city) and "NY"
(state).
So!
Search for
"new
york" NY law submit resume
You'll
find links to:
New
York Interview Days
Venture
Reporter
BNA
In
other words, pages from companies or organizations or universities where
law positions are advertised. Once you know who's hiring, you can then
start to market yourself.
What
if you're in a smaller area? Let's say you market accounting professionals
in central NJ. Well, that's all very well and good... but what counties
exist there? What phone number area codes are most used?
To
find out these answers, you could search for
NJ
counties
which
will lead you to, say, Visit
Monmouth. Let's choose Monmouth County. Scrolling down the page,
we see an area code for that area is 732. Now, go to Newsdirectory (yes,
newsdirectory) and browse down to NJ at NJ
Newspapers. You'll see that 908 serves this area as well.
The
last thing we need to do is find what towns are in Monmouth county. Searching
for
monmouth
county towns
we
eventually end up at NJ
Cost . Let's pick a town...say, Red Bank.
We
now have information we need to uncover hidden jobs within the Monmouth
County area of NJ. Go to Google and search for
submit
resume "red bank" accounting
You'll
uncover
Markel
Corp
that
has a position based in the Red Bank Area. Need more? Search out the surrounding
counties and simply apply the same type of search (and you know area codes
you can use as well if needed).
Labor
intensive? Certainly. But effective? Indeed - in today's economy, wise
professionals consider every sleuthing tool the Internet has to offer.
Take advantage of that.
ThankYouVeryMuch!
