Earthing system TT - Earthing system in which the neutral and the exposed conductive parts are directly earthed. The installation must be de-energized immediately in the event of an insulation fault.
Switching Transients - Rapid voltage peak up to 20,000 volts with a duration of 10mS to 100mS.
Battery or Pack - Two or more electrochemical cells electrically interconnected in an appropriate series/parallel arrangement to provide the required operating voltage and current levels. Under common usage, the term "battery" is often also applied to a single cell.
Constant Resistance Discharge - A battery discharge regime whereby the resistance of the equipment load remains constant throughout discharge.
1.5 Ah/10 = 150 mA (A cell's capacity is not the same at all discharge rates and usually increases with decreasing rate.)
Overcharge - The forcing of current through a cell after all the active material has been converted to the charged state, that is, continued charging after reaching 100 percent state-of-charge.
Drain - The current withdrawn from a battery during discharge.
