Battery or Pack - Two or more electrochemical cells electrically interconnected in an appropriate series/parallel arrangement to provide the required operating voltage and current levels. Under common usage, the term "battery" is often also applied to a single cell.
Reliability - Probability that a device will accomplish a required function under given conditions over a given period of time. Gravimetric Energy Density - The ratio of the energy output of a cell or battery to its weight (Wh/kg). This term is used interchangeably with specific energy.

Coulomb - The amount of electricity transported by a current of one ampere flowing for one second.
Frequency - The repetition of cycles measured in Hz. 60 Hz is the standard frequency in the U.S. 50 Hz is the standard frequency in other parts of the world. 60 Hz = 60 cycles per second.
Dry Cell - A cell with immobilized electrolyte. The term "dry cell" is often used to describe the Leclanche cell.
