UPS (single) - A UPS made up of one single UPS unit (rectifier/charger, inverter and bypass) and a battery.
Charge - The conversion of electrical energy, provided in the form of electrical current from an external source, to restore the chemical energy in a cell or battery.
Discharge Rate - The rate, usually expressed in amperes, at which electrical current is taken from the battery.
Electrode - The site, area or location at which electrochemical processes take place.
MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) - Mathematical calculation of the duration of normal operation of a non-reparable device, i.e. for which a MTBF is not possible. The product, expressed in hours, is an indication on the reliability of the device.
Cycle Life - The number of cycles under specified conditions which are available from a secondary battery before it fails to meet specified criteria as to performance.
Battery cells - The interconnected battery elements that supply electrical power created by electrolytic reaction.
