Bypass (automatic) - In the event of an overload or an unlikely UPS problem, your application is still powered, thanks to the automatic bypass module.
C-Rate (also see Hourly Rate) - Discharge or charge current, in amperes, expressed in multiples of the rated capacity. For example, C/10 discharge current for a battery rated at 1.5 Ah is:
Temperature Cutoff (TCO) - A protective or safety device (e.g., thermostat, PTC, etc.) which senses temperature (e.g., in a battery) and opens or cuts off the electrical circuit if the specified temperature is exceeded, thus preventing a further rise in temperature due to the charge or discharge of a battery.
Hazardous Waste - Waste which is classified as "hazardous" (i.e., potentially harmful to the environment) by the government.
Coulomb - The amount of electricity transported by a current of one ampere flowing for one second.
Load power - Apparent power Pu that the UPS inverter supplies under given load conditions. It is less than or equal to the rated output Pn. The ratio Pu/Pn defines the % load of the inverter.
UPS (parallel without redundancy) - A UPS made up of several (n) parallel-connected UPS units with equal output ratings (P) and each equipped with its battery, for large loads. The total output is equal to the number of units multiplied by their individual output (n x P). In this configuration, no UPS unit is redundant.
