Series - The interconnection of cells in such a manner that the positive terminal of the first is connected to the negative terminal of the second, and so on, resulting in increased voltage.
Midpoint Voltage - The voltage of a battery midway in the discharge between the start of the discharge and the end voltage.
Charge - The conversion of electrical energy, provided in the form of electrical current from an external source, to restore the chemical energy in a cell or battery.
Load (linear) - Load for which voltage form and current form are similar. Voltage and current are related by Ohm's law U(t) = Z x I(t).
Voltage Delay - Time delay for a battery to deliver the required operating voltage after it is placed under load.
High Voltage Spike - Rapid voltage peak up to 6000 volts with a duration of 100mS to 1/2 cycle.
Cubicle (parallel UPS unit) - Cubicle containing a rectifier/charger and an inverter. It is connected to one or several other identical cubicles and a bypass cubicle to make up a parallel UPS.
