Power source (safety) - Power source for loads defined as critical by applicable safety regulations. This supply must not be affected by a mains failure and is generally separate from other supplies.
Volumetric Energy Density - The ratio of the energy output of a cell or battery to its volume (Wh/L).
Voltage Delay - Time delay for a battery to deliver the required operating voltage after it is placed under load.
Distortion (total) - Ratio between the rms value of all harmonics of a non-sinusoidal alternating periodic value and that of the fundamental. This value may also be expressed as a function of the individual distortion of each harmonic Hn= Yn /Y1.
Hazardous Waste - Waste which is classified as "hazardous" (i.e., potentially harmful to the environment) by the government.
Nominal Voltage - The characteristic operating voltage or rated voltage of a battery.
Voltage Reversal - The changing of the normal polarity of a battery due to overdischarge.
