The MOST Important Thing You MUST Do For 2011 (no questions asked)

It's…it's…..

It's 2011!

(all together now….YAY!)

And now that the year is ready to rock, it's time to put the pedal to the metal, time to put the hammer down, time to make like a MOPAR and zoom zoom zoom, time to devise ever more bizarre analogies, time to…..

WAIT A SEC!

Stop right there!  Whew, so glad I caught you and was able to delicately pause your forward momentum!

Yes.

We all do have our goals.

I, for example, am going to revamp Virtual Coach, reopen my forums, get more affiliate products into my store and all those lovely goodies.

And you, I'm positive, have big huge bunches of wondrous ideas that will deliver to you more phenomenal benefits than a never-ending supply of rose-scented coffee caffeine patches!

But that pales next to how I myself started my 2011 at 2am….and what prompted me to write the following post.

See, today I was all set to continue my black belt blogging thread (I'll be describing the skills a Yellow Belt blogger must have) but what happened at 2am….it defies mere mortal description for me.

And you know what that means…it's time to share and teach!

It all started at 8:30pm.  Well, okay, that's a lie, because that's the time I went to bed.

I figured that the New Ear would come, with or without me…and so decided that the concept of "bed" married with "me in it" topped off "me asleep" sounded more appealing than 37 winning lottery tickets for the MegaMasterOfTheUniverse Lotto game!

At 2am, however, one of my passel of kids knelt by my bed and whispered to me, "Mom, I really need to talk to you…can I  talk to you?"

Now I, like every parent, am hardwired to spring awake in an instant's notice should one of my kids need me.  The first thing that sprang thru my mind was:

• OMG, did a friend of yours get hurt during the New Ear Eve celebration? 
  

Followed by:

• Did someone consume a firework? 
  

Followed by:

• Are you dealing with a trauma I might not be able to solve????????
  

Well, to make a long story short, I bundled the kid into a comforter and we talked on the big huge circle couch in our guest room about the issue at hand – said kid was depressed about 2010 and how it's not over and how can anything ever match?

We talked….and talked…and then talked some more….and then talked…for 1.5 hours.

And let me tell you – it was glorious.

Why, I hear you ask?

Several reasons actually….one, I know that the time might come when my kids view talking to their parents to be as desirable as executing a do-it-yourself tooth extraction with a rusty butter knife.

So being able to alleviate concerns and make things better….that's one thing that makes parenthood rock!

But even more importantly….at the close of the conversation, the kid told me…

"Mom, you're the wisest person I know."

Cue the dramatic symphony, release the boldly valiant galloping unicorns amid the freshly grown field of vibrant daisies, and turn lose the glorious multi-hued rainbow of magnificence!

Wow.

Oh….WOW.

That comment knocked me flat, struck me dumb, and made me truly honor and appreciate my guardian angel!

To realize that I have profoundly affected the life and lives of the people I love…in a positive direction….

Such things make you humble beyond belief.

And in a blinding flash of light, there at 3:30am, something of grave importance came to me that I realized…I had to share the instant I started blogging.

And it's this.

For 2011, the most important thing you *have* to do is….make a profoundly positive difference.

• It could be making a difference in the lives of your family.
• It could be making a difference in the lives of your customers
• It could be making a difference in the lives of your next door neighbor.
• It could be making a difference in the lives of your friends.

Honestly, it doesn't matter for whom you make a difference….just….*make a difference*.

See….

When you help someone out, you're touching the universe and helping pass on the goodness you have to offer.

And let me tell you, nothing….but nothing… can compare to that glory.
