Brief, pithy and to the point. Did you know that Animal Planet is having its annual Hero of the Year nominations?
Animal rescue is something about which I’m passionate, so this week I’m dedicating my blog headlines to the topic.
This is the last week you can nominate a person for whom animal rescue is paramount! If you want to nominate an individual, you need to provide their email address, their birthdate and phone number, and an essay that describes just why you think the person should win.
Two awards are given out – one for Animal Hero of the Year, and another for Cat Hero of the Year.
I’m voting for the guy who broke the horrendous Cat Killer case that appeared in the newspapers and magazines, Buddy Amato. The man is literally a wonder when it comes to rescuing pets – he even faced off against a guy who attacked him with escrima sticks during a rescue success.
I’ve pulled together a page about his accomplishments over at http://www.barbaraling.com/hero.html . If after reading you feel he’s the man for the award, I invite you to fill out the nomination below. You’ll need to know:
Buddy’s email address is amato AT monmouth.com and the birthdate is 5/31/54. Phone number is 732-671-9555, address is 589 Palmer Ave, Keansburg, NJ 07734. http://animal.discovery.com/sweepstakes/hero/2008/entryform.html

Wow, that’s pretty cool!
It’s sad to see when animals are trouble…I’m glad that we have so many good people out there to help our furry friends.
