We make you beg for mercy!Today is the official start of Camp Ling, complete with Academics!

And so mother dear (ie, yours truly) has been up preparing today’s goodies.

On our plate today is (depending on the age; kids range from 12 down to 5):

Math)

  • Mental fun – Squaring numbers that end in 1
  • Adding 1 digit numbers together
  • Adding 2 digit numbers together

Physical Fun)

  • Blackberry walk/dash around the baseball diamonds

Computer)

  • Learn chess
  • Take over WoW blog

Language)

  • Memorize Karate Terms
  • Write WoW FanFic
  • Write in WoW Journal
  • Search for my Latin/Greek terms (mom)

Karate)

  • Practice sparring stance
  • Spar!

You might have noticed the ‘take over WoW blog’ activity – my eldest has decided that while SIMS is exciting indeed, World of Warcraft (and I quote) ‘pwns’ everything else….so I’m going to give her my WoW site that I developed a few months ago.  Making money online is still a good thing for this summer!

In other news, I’ve finally recovered from my bout of humility that I, ahem, enjoyed experiencing over the weekend and have started teaching my kids in earnest the Martial Arts techniques I’ve learned.  Everything happens for a reason, I firmly believe…and I plan on putting that into major action indeed.

Time to print out me handouts,

Barbara Ling

ps – speaking about fanfic, my kids always write about Japanese Anime and World of Warcraft:

I know exactly what you mean, lol. My son plays wayyyyyyyyyyyy too many computer games, I think. Just the other day, he was playing checkers with his sister, when he suddenly jumped up and said, “Pause the game quick, I have to go to the bathroom”

My 12 year old son become addicted to wow so much so I had to suspend his account as he was up all night after being put to bed for school playing on his laptop.

And it’s the same with his friends they stay in all weekend playing wow when it’s a beautiful day outside, what has the world come to
