Camp Ling – Week 1, Day 2 – Fine-tuning Blogs, Baseball Dashes and more
Jul 1st, 2008 | By Barbara | Category: Insights
Morning!
Yesterday’s Camp Ling ran quite peachy, I must admit. We walked the 2+ miles to see the movie Wall-E (very cute, not as exciting as Cars, but cute nontheless), did some great karate workous, designed a super poster in Photosho about always being open to learning, watched Honorable Daughter I teach Honorable Daughter II about setting up her blog….all in all, quite a day.
Alas, we *didn’t* get a chance to tackle the math (wah!) due to unexpected opportunities for procrastination, but hey. Perhaps today!
On our plate today is (depending on the age; kids range from 12 down to 5):
Math)
- Mental fun – Squaring numbers that end in 1
- Adding 1 digit numbers together
- Adding 2 digit numbers together
Physical Fun)
- Blackberry walk/dash around the baseball diamonds (that was supposed to be yesterday, but we indulged in the movie theater walk instead)
Computer)
- Learn chess
- Update DGrayMan blogs
Language)
- Memorize Karate Terms
- Write WoW FanFic
- Write in WoW Journal
- Search for my Latin/Greek terms (mom)
Karate
- Continue with sensei-stance
- Work on I-kata
As life never follows rules, my kids decided to focus their blogs on DGrayMan instead of World of Warcraft or SIMs. Joy! Methinks I can consider selling my SIMS site (WoW site too for that matter), as I just don’t have the time to keep them up.
‘course, the fact I’ve been up since 1:30am and it’s now 4am or so kinda sorta makes me realize…Camp Ling might include a nap today!
Speaking of which, methinks….that’s a good idea now. See you later today!

Hi Barbara,.
What a great idea to have your daughter creating her own blog (with mums help of course). This gives her the opportunity to create multiple streams of income. My son has no interest in what I do… think’s it’s a waste of time. But of course he thinks just hanging on MySpace is productive.
I think I’ll head on over to Camp Ling… could do with a nap!
