Confident Writing

I know a secret about you.

In your heart, you KNOW you’re quality and you KNOW what you have to share is something definitely worth reading!

Am I right?  Hmmmm?

But!  Tell me now QUICK!  Are you confident enough in your own abilities…and do you have the confidence required to step up to the plate and allow your knowledge and special unique offerings shine through?

If not, don’t despair – learning how to write confidently for the web and really engage your readers is definitely a learnable skill!

One of my favorite people for such a thing is Joanna Young over at the Confident Writing blog.  The woman is an incredible powerhouse when it comes to inspiring her readers and getting them not only improve their writing skills…but honestly THINK as well about the new and unique directions they can take!

I recently received a copy of her book, 199 Ways to Write With Confidence, and wanted to offer my take on it.

Clocking in at a very reasonable 65 ror so pages, it contains some of the best ideas and gems you can imagine for flattening your learning curve and getting up to speed quickly, effectively and most brilliantly to boot!

Here, let me give you some more ideas….

What I liked most about it is as a print book, it’s easy to take to bed with a highlighter and meticulously go thru.  For example, page 11 of the book discusses:

How To Be a Total Reader Magnet

And zeros in with what I think is the most important part imaginable:

Do use headlines that demand your reader’s attention.

After all, if your readers aren’t intrigued by your title enough to click on it…bye bye potential sales and potential optins and potential Adsense clicks and potential…..

See?

You can have the most Oscar-worthy prose or National Enquirer-honored gossip or Money Making Even Better Than A Bread Slicer thingee….but if nobody is intrigued enough to learn more, you’re dead before you even exit the gate.

If you’re looking for a true guide that cuts through the hype and froth and TELLS you exactly how to begin your confident writing journey, I can highly recommend Joanna’s book – at 9.97 pounds ($15 or so dollars?) it’s definitely a no-brainer to buy.

Enjoy,
