Just Freakin’ Do It!

Just do it!Morning all,

Check it out!

It’s not morning!  ‘matter of fact, it’s 4:20pm!  I’ll bet you’re wondering to yourself:

Jeepers Barb, what’s with you today?

So glad you asked!

You see, I’ve been up since 3am, working steadily on my current project.  As I always walk the walk I talk and teach others, I have proactively turned on a dime and am refocusing some of my products to make it super-easy for people to brand themselves online.  We’re talking blindingly simple, amazingly 1-2-3-like…something that even your Aunt Bertha could use to whip up one dynamic "Why Choose Me" personal branded site.

But an opportunity presented itself!

Remember, problems are merely opportunities in disguise.  :)

You see, I hate writing copy.  I HATE HATE HATE IT!  You can kinda sorta see that via my Twitter Timeline:

Not only that – my current project requires not simply copy (which, btw, did I mention… I HATEEEEEEE!!!!!!) but also:

  • A complete site design
  • 5 different color variations
  • 2 followup autoresponders
  •  packaging of the products with the backend delivery

In other words, utterly frustrating work.

So……at 3am, I said to meself:

Self – it has to be done, just freakin’ DO IT!

and with the exception of the 2 hours I gave myself to do my 2.4 mile circle walk and 4,800 karate punches workout, I’ve been steadily pulling everything together.

My gosh, I’m so exhausted, I literally (no kidding!) can not even fold my laundry and have it make sense!  To wit:

  • you know you’ve been working too long when you cannot fold the laundry in any way that makes sense.

Sigh.

But!  The awesomely incredible fantastic news is:

I did a weeks’ worth of brilliantly fantastic work today.

The highlight was when Honorable Daughter 1 came home….I pulled up my work-in-progress and she jumped back in her seat with the exclamation "WOW MOM!  How the heck did you DO that??"

I confess – that made it all worthwhile indeed.

Thus, allow me to share with you the following insightful viewpoint.

Quite frankly, nobody will do your work for you.  And if you keep putting it off….it ain’t a’gonna miraculously come into being by itself.

You have to just plain freakin’ do it.

Remember….you and ONLY you can change your current earning power.

You and ONLY you can proactively turn on a dime and say, I’m going to make things happen….and nobody is going to stop me!

I still have a bleepload of work to do, mind you…and I’m right now soooo comatose that not only am I giving up my beloved adult karate sparring this evening (I’d probably end up punching myself by mistake), I cannot even string more than 6 words together and make coherent sense.

But hey, these things happen.  :)

After all, I’m the architect of my own successes or failures online….and I refuse NOT to honor that.

How ’bout you?  Will you rise to the challenge (and I just realized, I have to write the affiliate tutorial as well, joy!) or sink to the earthworms?

The choice….it’s in YOUR hands.  What will it be?

Night night all,

Barbara Ling

Very nice post, and probably something I needed to read.  I just haven’t been able to really get going on my “real” job lately, and that’s not good since I work for myself, and if I’m not working new money isn’t coming in.  I need to be marketing, marketing, marketing, and I just haven’t been in the mood.  But I don’t get those choices, and truth be told, when I get something from all my efforts, it feels so good, just like it does when I’m doing any other project.
So, I’m going to get myself going and do it; tomorrow.  :-D

:)

Today is another day I got up at 3am and proceeded to create miracles! Hopefully, however, the end is in sight…and I can return to normal coffee-enhanced workdays.

Thanks for your comment, Barbara

I am familiar with the notion that you just need to get yourself moving to get something done.  Once you get in the zone, the project doesn’t become so difficult, and it’s done before you know it.
