(Another great bite-sized bit of wisdom from Barbara Ling!)
Are you running a local business?
If so, are *you* on Google Places?
If not, my gosh….why why why?
You see, with the rise of SmartPhones and other search abilities, quite often Google Local results are what shows up in the Search engine results these days.
For example, consider this search
You’ll see:
Not only is that the first result, but you’ll notice that the Google Local listing showed up above that as well!
(Yep, I’m the webmaster for that site).
Thus, if you have a local business, making sure you appear in Google Places is just plain common sense – it gives you an extra opportunity to rank high for your future customers to find.
