Interestingly enough, tons of people DO….we’re talking millions and millions of online users. That’s “Millions” as in “Huge Fan Base” as in “MegaBig Potential Money profit”.

Take, for example, World of Warcraft – this online MMORPG (otherwise known as a Massively Multiple Online Role Playing Game) has thousands of sites dedicated to the game – updates, resources, cheater’s guides, mods, hacks, fan bases and much much more.
So! Think upon the following. You’ve got die-hard players, online guides to sell gamer enhancements, PS2 versions of the games, Wii, Xbox….all things that can help you generate a very nice affiliate income indeed.

How? Why,

Thanks to eBay…and Amazon…and affiliate programs from gamers and …..

Here’s how!

Step 1.) Set up a Gamer-related domain name and put a blog on it.

For the purpose of this exercise, I’ll focus on World of Warcraft. What kinds of domain names are good? Consider:.

• World of Warcraft Sage
• Thott Bot
• Warcraft Mods
• World of Warcraft Empire
• WoW Ladies

I personally like using words such as ‘power’ or ‘tips’ or ‘news’ or ’secrets’ if I’m going to try and make money from a domain…but you can also brand your site with your own unique personality as well.
Once you have the domain name, you’ll need to host it.

Step 2.) Obtain an eBay and Amazon and Commission Junction affiliate ID.

This is extremely important because these three programs will deliver the majority of your commissions.

You wouldn’t believe some of the gamer-related products people can buy online. They include easy short cuts to making gold in the World of Warcraft universe, gamer action figures, video games, PS2 and PS3 games, controllers, t-shirts, coffee cups, mousepads….if you can think on it, you can probably buy it.

Next, you need to:

Step 3.) Get your Gaming Blog Up and Running

There are four critical things that you have to do regarding your blog:

• Set up categories
  • I’d recommend to start off simple, like:
    • Gamer News
    • Gamer Mods
    • Gamer Guides
• Download/install anti-spam plugins (learn more here)
• Incorporate affiliate programs to blog template. Both eBay and Amazon give you tips on how to do this. On my blogs, I put the affiliate programs in my sidebar and also within the single page postings as well. Search on Commission Junction for Gaming affiliates too. You can add their banner links to your sidebars.
• Install the CommentLuv plugin. When people post on your blog, this will pull up their latest post…thus encouraging them to participate.

So! You now have the blog set up and waiting for you – it’s time to find gaming information about which to write. Jump now to:

Step 4.) Search Out Gamer Feeds.

Visit to Google Alerts and set up a comprehensive alert for

• gaming

This will verify you’ll be alerted whenever news or blog postings or forum postings etc. about gaming show up. If you are returned too much gambling news, modify your text string to actual game names, such as

• wii
• “world of warcraft”
• runescape

Your next step is to visit Google and search for

• gamer news
• gamer rss
• gamer feeds
  

You should come across great gaming sites like:

• News for Gamers
• IGN PC
• Games Radar
• Kotaku Gamers
• Digital Something

Add the feeds you’d like to your Feedreader.

Once that is completed, search for

• gaming blog

This will deliver to your blogs that center on gaming, such as:

• British Gaming
• Wired.com Gaming
• Destructoid Gamer Community
• BlogFlux Video Games
  

Continue adding feeds until you have about 2 dozen of them; that’s enough to provide you with a continuous stream of inspiration.

And once you’re ready to rock…

Step 5.) Blog!

Now you can start blogging about the joys of gaming to your own personal gamer blog. You can begin with pointing out when conventions are occurring, current gaming news, how gaming is affecting teenagers today, etc.etc.etc.

But wait! There’s one more thing you should do:

Step 6.) Visit other gamers blogs and comment.

If you offer useful comments at other gaming blogs, a direct link to your own personal game site will be generated. Such things help your own site get indexed quickly.

Remember – money won’t flow in immediately. That’s a fact.…but be consistent, write about gaming content that’s important, and your readership will increase as the weeks go by. And because you have all the discounts and gamer goodies savings embedded in your site, your affiliate income should increase as well.
