Oh wow, what a day!
I'm earlobe-deep into getting my Max Your Holiday Profits salepage ready (yep, I changed the name from "Big Huge", which is a description, to "Max", which is an action – woot to me for recognizing that BEFORE the launch!), and completing my husband's holiday present (I just know it's over 5,000 beads in total), and attending the 493 Holiday concerts for my children and and and….
Relaxation, thy name is Ling!
Honestly though, wow. What a lot of "stuff" that must get done!
Add to that that me eldest came home yesterday suffused in misery (while parenting is truly a hero's journey, so is growing up! Can't deny that whatsoever). I immediately stopped work, made her comfort food, concocted a pine-scented hot bath, and later on put her to bed; she's doing much better today.
You know how we as parents just want to protect our kids from everything?
Well, it's a great idea and concept, but through difficulties and pain, huge amounts of strength are created. So I can only be a witness to my kids' growing and be there as much as they want….but they must walk their own personal path to greatness.
It sure hurts sometimes, though.
But I digress. 🙂
Today I was visiting my usual community of magnificent blogs and came across this stellar post:
Get More Blog Traffic Blueprint
It's a fantastic post and I do urge you to read it! But what also caught me attention was this particular adorable print button:
![]()
Ain't that the most brilliant thingee possible?
Just think about it:
Chances are, the entire world is NOT addicted to the Internet, so there will be people who would love to read your insights if only their friends had printed it out for them.
And that button lets you do it!
Intrigued, I hovered my mouse over said button, and saw the following tag:
pfstyle=wp
So I searched for that online, and came up with:
Printer Friendly & PDF Button For Websites and Blogs
– 7:37am
www.printfriendly.com/button
It's a plugin!
You can download it at
and install it on your site and voila…
Instant print-friendliness suffuses your site!!
Unless, of course, you're using the Thesis theme like I am.
Then you have to manually add into your custom_functions.php file like so:
———————————
add_action('thesis_hook_before_post','add_print_friendly');
function add_print_friendly() {
if(is_single()){echo pf_show_link();echo tweetmeme();}
};
———————————–
Well, okay, you don't need the tweetmeme thingee; I combined code so two actions would be executed.
Anywhos!
You'll notice now that each of my individual posts and pages has that oh-so-cute Print PDF button at the front, so you can happily print out the content, minus the images, and send to anyone who prefers to read NOT on a computer screen.
Neat, eh?
What with the holidays fast approaching too….it just plain makes sense. Which reminds me…
Happy last day of Chanukkah!
I hope it's terrific for you and your family and friends.
Enjoy!
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
