Twitter StarsMorning!

The sun is shining, the birdies are mooing and the cows are tweeting and WAIT A SEC!!!!

Did you just say TWEETING?

Well, okay, YOU probably didn’t, as you’re reading this page right now, but I certainly did (wrote?).  And whenever you hear the word ‘tweet’, I’m certain the first thing that pops to mind is (drumroll please)

Twitter!

Unless you’ve regressed back to a fossilized clam state, you’ve probably heard of the Slice it and Dice It and oh so Nice It microblogging application, Twitter.   And as there are already tons of super resources about which you can take advantage (listed later on in this post), instead of writing the basic

How-To Guide on Tremendous Twitter Tweeting In Terrific Territories

I’m going instead simply focus upon some of the top Twitter sites out there.

For today’s post, I’d like to direct you to

Twitter Stars

Created by Mark Davidson, one of the most comprehensive social marketing experts from whom I’ve had the pleasure of learning online, it’s a site that provides excellent insights and overviews on some of the most creative ways to use Twitter.  You can read all about his take on Twitter Followers Like Guy Kawasaki, the Tweet Up Blood Drive, Liz Strauss is Going to Break the Web! and much much more, but that’s not what I want to focus on in this post – instead, I want to direct your attention to:

Twitter Commands

Brief, pithy and to the point – it shuns the typical ‘uses of twitter’ that many posts have, and instead simply dives into the really simple but very useful commands that Twitter offers.  Heck, I didn’t even know about commands like:

INVITE phone number
Will send an SMS invite to a friend’s mobile phone.
Example: Invite 415 555 1212

FAV username
Marks a person’s last twitter as a favorite. (hint: reply to any update with FAV to mark it as a favorite if you’re receiving it in real time)
Example: fav al3x

There’s lots of other goodies listed that can probably help you streamline your own personal twitter usage as well.  I highly recommend visiting Twitter Stars and puttering about – it’s a great Twitter destination.

Enjoy,

Barbara Ling
