Ultimate reason why people should subscribe to your blog’s newsletter

NewsletterAre you running a newsletter on your blog yet?  (I am – you can access it here!  And trust me, you want to do this – this Friday I’ll be revealing a way to secure a $20 discount from a must-have blog product).

If not, might I humbly inquire….why?

Forget about RSS feeds and your readers (yes, I know – Blasphemy!  Evil!  Argh!) for the moment.  Instead, I want you think about THE most important person who could be reading this  – YOU.

Ever want to reward people who are ACTIVE parts of your community?

I’m not talking about just having your feed in their readers.  After all, consider…. you probably have tons of feeds in YOUR readers that never see the light of day with you, right?

But for those blogs you follow religiously, wouldn’t it be nice to be part of that special audience…and as such, receive benefits that are offered only to said audience?

Newsletters PROACTIVELY give you this ability.

And what about if you change blogs or move your online site someplace else?

Wouldn’t it be peachy if you had within your power the ability to proactively contact your audience (and not have to wait for an RSS push) and invite them to check out your new accomplishement?

Hmmm?

I’ll be writing more about how easy it is to set up a newsletter on your blog at a later time.  But for now, I wanted to concentrate upon the the Ultimate reason why people should subscribe to your newsletter….

Because by doing so…they get something they CANNOT OBTAIN anywhere else online.

What might this something be?

  • It could be discounts you secure for your list (people who signup for my newsletter automatically get half price off a very useful service)
  • It could be a secret how-to you offer ONLY to your subscribers.
  • It could be a free make-you-smile idea you provide ONLY to your subscribers

See?

When people subscribe to your newsletter, they should get goodies (ideas, discounts, insights, etc.) as a reward.

It’s up to you to provide that!  But when you do…and do it well…..ah, the benefits YOU receive as a blogger start to increase dramatically indeed.

Why else do you think you’re starting to see pushes from other probloggers for you to join their newsletter?  It’s a very smart marketing move indeed.

Enjoy,

Barbara Ling

Ask yourself – what is it YOU can secure that other folks in your industry cannot?

That’s your bonus.  :)
