Yes, it’s true. I am actually capable of gentle kindness. 
My kids took Aikido last night, and came home explaining that because they were Uke (the person upon whom the techniques were demonstrated), might they pleeeeease NOT get up at 6am?
Remembering how utterly comatose I was after my own Martial arts exertion, I had no problem giving them some time off. Woke ‘em up at 7:30am and got ready for the 2.2 mile circle walk of Fun and Excitement! Wheeee! Came across several yummy ripe blackberry patches alongside the road, and managed a great role-playing exercise during the entire trip.
I will confess – I’ve put off the academics until next week. Instead, I let my kids practice their Aikido on me and also spar me without gear. And folks think I’m no fun. Hah!
After that, it’s advanced karate at the dojo tonight…and they go back to writing their World of Warcraft Fanfic while I continue setting up my latest ebook promotion.
Tomorow the movie Wall-E comes out! As the movie theater is only about 2.1 miles away, I’m centering our Camp Ling morning walk on it, and will revisit the kids’ fanfic writing and strategy planning.
