(It’s 5:25am – and (omigosh!!) I’m awake!)

Morning!  Oh, the utter magnificent joys of sleeping!  Followed by sleeping!  And and and, more sleeping!

I’m pleased to announce that after collapsing in a heap at 6pm or so yesterday, I’m feeling much more alive and awake today.  The lesson my guardian angel wants me to internalize, I suppose, is:

Big buff mom that I am, I confess to feeling quite a lot of satisfaction when I assured the sensei yesterday that no, he didn’t go too hard on me – it was the 2 bouts after him that exhausted me a wee bit (picture a 6’4" guy with legs the length of Montana toying with a 5’3.5" tall woman (yours truly) like a tiger toys with a mouse).  Gad, I really do adore the class.

Other good news was that my boys did make their apology cards to the sensei for their goofing off (their senseis are MY senseis and NOBODY messes with my senseis, even my family) and said cards were received well.  Hopefully that will be the LAST time a Ling acts the goofball in beginners karate class!

So!  After coming home from watching my kids in Beginners Karate class, I went on shut-down mode and slept for 8 hours.   Got up this morning, commented at Warning To Moms And Dads: Summer Break Is Here and Pssst… Wanna Know The Secret To Life? It’s Running. And Reading and now….now it’s time for!

And for today, I’d like to discuss:

Viral money yummies

Hey, I’m a mom, "yummy" is one of the most favored words in my household. 

Seriously though, think about viral marketing.  Tons of times that you venture to a site…you’re offered a free download, right?

Ever wonder why?

’tis because quite often, the tools recommended are embedded with the author’s affiliate link.  If you end up purchasing thru that link, the author gets the commission.

This is an EXTREMELY! useful way for giving your affiliate links wings across the Internet!

I do this myself over at my Free Complimentary Downloads page.  Not only does the 200+ page make money book include the various affiliate link here and there, but you’ll see – each footer has a direct link NOT to my site but to my Why Subscribe page.  AND…I encourage the reader to pass the book around as well.

It’s very effective indeed.  You can use a free download as a:

• Extra goodie to give those folk who signup for your RSS feed
• Bonus report
• Component in a 7 day eclass

Heck, if you brand your free downloadable via your Why Subscribe page, you can even then put it on Download.com via Upload.com!  I’m in the process of that myself for several of my releases.

And here’s how to make your free downloadable!  More detailed information can be found from my complimentary give-awaym,  The Beginners Make Money Cookbook.

Before You Begin – Write something your audience would find useful in Word.

If your blog’s audience focuses on weight loss, you can write the Top 10 Myths About Losing Weight With Hydroycut!  Or perhaps The Top 20 Dangers About Losing Weight (and focus on dippy things like Hollywood diets, colon cleansing and the like).

If your blog’s audience instead focuses upon parentings, consider writing The Top 10 Myths About Children Boundaries (and how kids need boundaries to feel secure), or The Top 20 Dangers Facing Your Child Online or …. get what I mean?

Next,

Step 1 – Add useful headers/footers.

Make certain the header and footer of your document contains direct links back to your site or your feed or (best of all!) your Why Subscribe page.

Next,

Step 2 – PDF-ize it.

When you turn your document into a PDF file, that means that both Windows AND Mac users can read it with no problem.  PDF files can be read on any platform!

Some free PDFers include:

• Primo PDF
• Cute PDF
• Do PDF

When you’ve finally PDFized everything, view it on via Adobe Acrobat and verify all the links to go where you’d like them to go.

You can then upload that directly to your site and provide links to it…or use Winzip or Winrar to smoosh up the file size and make it much smaller for downloads.

And finally….

Step 3 – Make a blog post about it and add it to your template.

When I was completed with my free giveaway, I wrote blogged about it to alert both current subscribers as to its exsistence, and ALSO wrote a standalone page that I backdated so it wouldn’t show up on my blog home page.

Then I proceeded to add it to my sidebar.php via the same techniques I taught you in Day 8 – Add eBay to your Sidebar.

And voila…you’re done.   Your blog now has a free giveway that will compel more readers to download your brilliance…and ideally click on the affiliate links you’ve embedded within.

Nice, eh?

In today’s lesson, you learned how to create a free downloadable giveaway you can use for viral marketing and to get your affiliate links out into the wild..

And of course (you really didn’t think I’d close a post without this now, did you?)  an opportunity now arises!
