Camp Ling, Week 1 Day 4 – When Reality Drops In Unannounced

We make you beg for mercy!Morning!

Well, it seems like as always, reality has a way of joyfully mashing up all of my ideas for Camp Ling, much to my kids’ delight.

Today is Day 4 that I’ve been in the soul-searingly agonizingly productive massive creation mode that has led me to:

  • a.)  Run myself flatter than an ant’s toenail
  • b.)  Give free rein to my kids for their blogging/anime activities
  • c.)  Design non-stop and produce a month’s worth of content in 3 days

End result?  I’ve given myself permission to miss my extracurricular activities…

(I recognize when the Muse is dropping 17 ton anvils of ideas on my head, and always give into that)

But that’s not all, of course.  While half comatose yesterday, I had to dash over to my dojo to chat regarding updates and the like.  Heard from more than one person that I had never looked so ‘dead’ before; I suppose zooming along at a million miles per hour for several days will bestow that visage upon a body.

And I can’t forget – our computer cable modem has been less stable than 83 pins standing on end, so my connectivity disappears every 5 minutes or so.  Wheeee!

And Camp Ling!  It’s really tough to lead all the physical fitness goodies when all you want to do is melt into your coffeecup and take a nap.  So…I’m postponing hardcore Camp Ling until next Monday; the kids already have the days well in hand!

How so, I hear you ask?

Well, Honorable Daughter I has nixed off World of Warcraft to her activities…instead, she wants to focus on blogging her interests.  My gosh, I just cannot teach this kid anything when it comes to developing her own unique blogging voice – I can learn from her as well!  And Honorable Daughter II has finally gotten her interests kicked into high gear, and is following her sister’s lead.

So….I’ve accepted the fact my original ideas for Camp Ling just ain’t a’happenin’ yet….and that’s okay.  Today we’ll probably get the library walk in (a 2.3 mile walk) for our activites….it’s a good thing to enjoy.

And how is YOUR summer moving along?  :)
