So many choices....

What is best for you?

Answer: It all depends. What are your needs?

The main thing you must demand from your online caviar buying is guaranteed freshness. And one of the most important components of that is ensuring your caviar is shipped directly to you, overnight.

The delicacy of caviar means it is extremely perishable. So you need to verify the house from which you buy it uses high-quality styrofoam-lined boxes and ice packs, or other containers equally as effective.

Once in the home, the caviar should be consumed within a few days (not weeks!). Any leftovers can be stored in the coldest part of your refrigerator (not the freezer!).

If the entire tin cannot be finished, leftover caviar can be preserved for a short time by gently and carefully pressing plastic wrap against the surface of the caviar. Rotate the tins twice a day to evenly distribute the oils throughout all the berries.

Next, ask yourself about your timing requirements. Are you having a party in which your caviar investment will have a place of honor? If so, ensure your order arrives the day before you need it (too long is not good at all).

Are you instead gifting a loved one or client with fine caviar? If so, you need to figure out any plausible reason for said person to be home to sign for the package (it would truly be a shame if such a gift went bad due to the recipient neglecting to visit the post office).

Now let's talk money. The most expensive caviar is beluga caviar 000 (and remember, the 000 means the lightest color as in a light grey). The next expensive is osetra, followed by sevruga (if you demand Russian caviar). Beluga caviar is packaged in a blue tin, Osetra caviar nestles within a yellow tin, and sevruge calls home a red tin.

What about the impact you want to achieve? Perhaps instead of simply giving caviar by itself, you might want to consider a whole medley of gourmet delicacies such as a caviar and champagne gift basket or a "6 months of caviar" extended gift. It's all up to you and the ultimate effect you want to witness in the future.
