Insight - The Faith Factor
Everyone
has some sort of faith. You've got the different religions - Avaita Vedanta,
African, Agnosticism, Arts, Atheism, Bah 'i, Buddhism, Cao Dai, Christianity,
Deism, Divination, Enlightenment, Esoteric and Occult, Ethical Culture,
Falun Dafa, Fictional, Fourth Way, Gnosticism, Hinduism, Humanism, Islam,
Jainism, Judaism, Mormonism, Mysticism, Native American, New Age, News
and Media, Pagan, Pantheism, Reincarnation, Scientology, Shamanism, Shintoism,
Sikhism, Tantra, Taoism, Unitarian Universalism, Universal Life Church,
Yoga, and Zoroastrianism, to name a few.
You have
the different belief systems - fate, prophecy, manifest destiny and more.
Now,
if you lived solely by yourself, the above would be no problem. You could
happily manifest your faith with zero worries about conflicts.
Alas,
of course, it's never that easy if you add other people to the equation.
Perhaps
your partner is of a different faith than you. Or maybe even the same faith,
but has a different level of intensity. Can you reach a loving middle ground
of understanding?
Technically,
I'm Jewish by birth, Unitarian by culture and really go for many of the
tenets showcased in The Force. As a matter of fact, did you know that Star
Wars has in its roots a good number of of the beliefs
from many different religions and mythologies? It's really an incredible
work and gives a great introduction to multitude of spiritual ideas.
One persons'
beliefs quite often work for that individual. Problems can arise when said
individuals feel the need to convert others to their ways (ranging from
the mundane of preaching by a corner to the drastic steps of September
11th, 2001). And if you're in a relationship with someone who declares,
I love you but.... (and you just know that "but" will be followed
by a "convert"), you're in the wrong relationship, period.
This
past year, my eyes have been opened by a number of wonderful folk in different
reliigions - Mormon, Jewish, Christian and others. All the folks involved
are deeply and passionately devout in their own way...and all are beautiful
people who taught me one heck of a lot. The differences of faith worked
for them - their humanity and openess in accepting me, worked for me.
The
Inner Personal Edge goes beyond faith and into the core humanity of
you as a human being. It demonstrates key ways to keep communications open,
even if belief systems differ. Faith is like a song - we all are
moved to sing, but we might choose to use different words and melodies.
Yet the *emotion* that causes us to lift our voices in song from the very
beginning, is the same.
